    Question Grand Targhee Cat Skiing

Has anybody ever gone skiing with these guys? If so, how is the operation, what is the terrain like? How long can the snow hold after a storm? Any competitors in the vicinity?

I've been cat skiing at Targhee twice, almost three times but the damn place burned down the night before.

These times were back before the new lift up Peaked Peak. I'm not sure what terrain they are operating on now, so I can't comment on that.

But, I can comment on the operation itself. I'd give it a first class vote. Good guides willing to take the group wherever they can handle. They are also willing to prune the stragglers from the group. I've seen several people sent back on snowmobiles after the first run, to be given their money back.

The last run of the day the guides busted out a wine and cheese spread at the bottom. It was actually quite enjoyable chatting with the guides and fellow skiers.

    Hope this helps,

Bob, thanks for the Info, how was the snow? Looks like right now Targhee is in good shape for some early season snow. I'll be staying in Teton Village, and hoping to make some turns over at Targhee.
