Hello one and all.
As suggested, I am a new member (and longtime lurker) so I ask that you be gentle with me, although given the rampant cyber-flaming that takes place here on a regular basis I feel sure my plea is futile. Anyhow, I feel a mini-t/r is as good an introduction as any so here ya go.
Apologies for the poor picture quality and lack of actual skiing pictures period: none of us are really into photography and therefore none of us are willing to sacrifice a line to take snaps. Sorry.
A short report of a day hiking laps in Val d'Isere france. This is a ridge that last season nobody but us skied, and the same is true this season, despite being in full view of the lifts. The hike is around 45 mins, give or take depending on your daily intake of cigarettes and quite tricky- steep up at first, then knife-edged at times along.
One side (towards Val d'Isere, lookers left in photos) is steeper but much less vert. drop. maybe 40 degrees, 20 seconds down if you straightlined. Other side (towards Tignes, lookers right in photos) is more varied and longer but less steep and tricky cliffed entrances. Take your pick...
