    SW Colorado Discount Trip Planning

This might all go out the window if the Utards are getting hammered the last week of February. I'll go there first half and drop down to Silverton for my reserved days at the end of the week depending on precip.

Anyway, recommendations welcome. I know all the basic stuff about pass closures etc. Looking for Ticket/ Lodging discount ideas that I might be missing. I try not to reserve anything ahead of time unless absolutely necessary.

Want to do Monarch if they have snow. Have this coupon for a free lift ticket with the purchase of one. I've driven past here twenty or thirty times but have never skied it and I need to change that. Seems like a pretty solid discount.skicoupons.com has 10% off lift ticket coupon

Hope to make a return to Crested Butte. The place rules and snow has been steady this year. Will be doing the ski/stay in Gunny if I go. Need pet friendly. Considering - Wildwood as recommended in another thread (Lemon Boy I think). Have stayed at the ABC. Shithole but close to the bars and an indoor hot tub, funny german owners. Tickets to CB are $45.72 with room - a very solid discount - the discount varies depending on when you book..

Want to ski T-Ride maybe Wed. 45% off lift tickets with an Ouray stay plus half off tickets to the hot springs. Is this the closest and best discount for T-Ride? Considering the Victorian Inn in Ouray. A slightly closer option is the Ridgeway Lodge and Suites offers 40% off day tickets to T-Ride ($51 per day) if your willing to stay out there.

Thursday and Friday I'm returning to Silverton for some guided. Pet friendly lodging in Silverton - Canyon View Inn is at the top of my list right now. Girl might go down and ski Purgatory on Thursday. Anyone know how to get an easy discount at Purg?Maggots say Purgatory discount tickets nearly impossible to find. The place sucks anyway. I still want to ski the shithole just to ski it. Normal lift ticket price is $60. I'd like to ski here someday too, just to do it. I've driven the entire mountain in my Subie

Girlfriend wants to do some guided ice climbing in Ouray on Friday. San Juan Mountain guides okay for ice climbing? They are pricey especially if her climbing friend can't make it down from Grand Junction. Any other options?

Also possibly thinking about a day at Wolf Creek, depending on things like snow. Any easy discounts to Wolfie like a Pagosa Springs ski and stay dealy similar to the deal in Gunny? Maggots say deals at Wolf Creek very hard to find. Try a locals day.

Thats it. Brainstorming out loud for the benefit of maggotkind. Feel free to chime.

Sounds like a solid trip you got in the works. You probably picked up on this, but that coupon for Monarch is also good at CB, so if you're able to fill up at another P66, it'd be a better deal than with the lodging.

I know wolf is already cheap, but if you find any deals, please share.

Yeah, I guess it just depends on how much fuel I can squeeze through the Subie. It would be cool to actually stay up in CB, never done that.

Hit one of the locals days at the Wolf. Not really any other discounts that I know of, but then again I don't know about any hotel deals there.

Ouray is nice, but not that close to T-ride. Try finding something in Rico. I know they have cheap lodging w/ 1/2 price tickets at one of the motels in town. Also a free hotspring right outside of town.

Good luck finding a deal at Purg. Just poach through the singles line and ski the backside all day.

I'll be heading out that way in a couple of days. Do most of the hotels out there have this 1/2 price deal? I'm planning on doing a day in Silverton and a day in T-ride, I was thinking about staying in Ridgeway. Any hotels there that have a lift ticket hookup at t-ride?

skicoupons.com has been a $ saver this season. Most non-Vail resorts have $10 off coupons plus over things like accommodations and restaurants. Worth checking out but the 2-for-1 p66 deal still beats most of it.

Your trip looks good. I would skip the Victorian Inn in T-ride. The manager Levi is a jerk and likes to sue his guests for sport... it's crazy, but true! Also, Purgatory is a waste of time too. Good luck!

If the subie is full of gas but you're not full of beer, buying coors in gunny also gets you the 2 fer 1 deal. CB is a cool town, if you can make a night up here happen instead of gunny, you should.

With 264" of snow falling on Monarch in just December and January alone, I'd say there's some snow there for ya.

No shit? Awesome. Beer is like money, even when you think you have enough, you don't. My g-f is in love with the town of CB. I've always just passed through it on my way to the lifts in the winter or to a campsite somewhere in the sticks in the summer.

    Great tip. Thanks.

Bump for the weekenders. Shame about the Victorian. It was the shit back in the early nineties and late eighties. Is the V-Inn in Ouray owned by the same asswipe? I don't think we will probably stay in T-Ride. We had a bunch of nights there this fall and we're kind of hungry to spend some time in Ouray.

I just booked a room at the Quality Inn in Gunnison for 2 nights at $70 per night. The reviews are pretty good on this place and it's got a hot tub so what else could you ask for?

Oh yeah, they have CB lift tix for $32/day.

edit: Also just booked a room for 2 nights in Ouray at the Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs. It was a little pricey at just under $100/night for a room w/2 queen beds. They've got 4 hot spring pools on site and they have vouchers for 45% off t-ride tix. It's too bad we can't get 45% off of silverton too

The Ridgeway Inn & Suites (was Super 8 a few years back) will give
you 45% off coupons for T-ride. I thought their rates were a bit high
at 70 plus tax and stayed in Montrose & skipped T-ride.
