Volkl SuperSport Allstar and Marker Motion Binding

So I just snagged a pair of ice/rock skis for out east. I got a crazy deal on a pair of used 175cm Volkl Supersport Allstar (5 star). Unfortunately it came with the Marker Motion rental binding.
This is what the skis look like
The skis are in fantastic shape but the bindings are what bother me. So I have a Couple of questions.

    1. If I wanted to buy a pair of new Marker Motion bindings what ones would I be able to get that fit my skis? Im assuming that this years bindings don't fit those skis?
    2. Are the rental bindings really that bad and should i even be concerned with replacing them?
    3. Lastly, the rental bindings seem to have a little give/movement in the toe and heel area. Is this normal?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

The Allstar (116/70/101) and 5 Star (114/68/99) were different skis.

It's a pain in the ass, and usually expensive (unless you luck out and find them on clearance), to buy Marker Motions without the accompanying ski.

IMHO, replacing Markers with Markers isn't worth it, and you don't have a choice. Yes, they will probably have a little play, but you may be able to correct that through forward pressure and other adjustments, and they're rock skis, for fuck's sake.

Oh I know they are rock skis but I was actually mostly concerned about the movement in the toe and heel and if that was normal.

And thats good to know about the difference between the 5star and the all star. I assumed they were the same since the allstar has five stars on it.

    Would these work?

    Thanks.

There are other differences as well. According to Volkl, the 5 Star "features a narrower 68mm waist and slightly softer flex than the Allstar." Here's Volkl's page for the Allstar, and for the 5 Star.

The Volkl website suggests that the iPT and AT series are not interchangeable.

    OK thanks for your help.

With that said, does anyone have any Marker IPT 05/06 bindings they want to sell?

And by any chance do you think that the 06/07 bindings would fit?

More current ones probably will fit.

But you probably won't them for sale here.

    1. Are you sure those are actually rentals? The motion is a system binding, and is super easy to adjust to different boot sizes. I've demoed that ski (owned it too) and the bindings were the consumer version. If I remember correctly, all it took was a screwdriver, a boot, and about 45 seconds.

    2. The ones you're looking at are $38 with 4 bids and 4 days left. You aren't going to get them for $38. Even at $38, you're still paying $20 for shipping. $60 to replace the system bindings on rock skis? Retarded.

If you notice a lot of play in the bindings while you're skiing them, start thinking about this shit. Otherwise find something better to obsess about.

edit: "give" or movement in the heel and toe of a binding is common in many different bindings when there's no boot in them. Is the movement still there with the boot engaged?

The allstars are just newer 5.5 or even 6 stars in relation to stiffness, with 2 mm extra underfoot. I wouldnt worry about the binding either- with the boot in there they wont be moving around enough to worry about. Plus theyre rock skis.

Focus is right on the binding adjustment too. Its pretty easy to change the bsl, and they arent rental bindings.

I have Supersport 6 starts and the bindings are sold. My buddy has allstars with the circle in the middle of the track and his bindings move a little bit. I assume you have the 12 din bindings. My biggest advice would be to replace them with 14 din markers comps. They don't re-release nearly as much
