freeride/pow specific board for a girl

so, a friend of mine needs a pow board to complete her two board quiver. i've got no idea about snowboards and she's not a gear freak (doesnt spend her days browsing the internet for the newest hottest board stuff) so the selection process is kinda hard. also it seems hard to find any useful information about this kind of stuff on the internet so if the maggots could offer any help it'd be greatly appreciated.. (what's the snowboarders "tgr"?)

she's about 140lbs, athletic yada yada and her current/other board is k2 moment (154cm). she could get a somewhat of a deal on burton malolo (154/158cm) but is a bit unsure if it differs "enough" from the k2 moment to be worth it, and if it would be too stiff for pow specific board (rather go for longer & flexier plank?). there dont seem to be many women specific pow boards around, how hard are the "unisex" models to ride? except of burton fish+malolo what models ( & lenghts?) should she be looking at, she'd prefer something thats widely available ( & cheap )? the terrain ridden would vary from open areas to trees, no super hard charging but more like mellow-ish cruising. testing won't probably be possible.

    thanks

I know nothing about women-specific boards or the Malolo.

I did recently notice that Illuminati makes a women-specific all-mtn/pow board that is probably less $ than a Malolo and worth checking out.

I'd say go malolo in a 154, I wouldn't go larger b/c that board rides tail heavy and once you go to big the fun factor of slashing it like a surf does on a wave is lost. The Fish is an AWESOME ride, it truly has made turns and cuts more fun then imaginable. The downside is that it's slow on the groomers. The malolo is a cross beteween a custom and a fish, it fasater then the fish and more all conditions friendly. If you want a powder machine then get a fish to add to the quiver, if you want an all mountain powder ripstick that can be taken out and ridden like a normal freerdie board then get the malolo.

On a side note the new super models ride nice also but in my opinion the malolo is the way to go for you. I've spent ample time in some really deep on both boards so ask away if you have more questions
