    Best Shops/Tuners in Seattle area?

Not looking for a shop with the best equipment, looking for a shop where the techs use the equipment the best. Mainly need competent base grinding. Mt. Pilchuck is close to me but have no experience with them other than buying ski socks and shit.

I used to use World Cup Skier when I lived close to them. I heard they changed ownership or something to that effect.

    Any referals appreciated.

I've had skis tuned at Proski, Evo and REI.

I'd rather support Proski, but it's a pain for me to go out to Aurora. REI is super-easy for me to get to, they have good hours, I get a dividend, Vivace is close for caffeine and the tunes seem ok.

    Don't go to world cup

Sturtevants got their old head tech. He's supposed to be pretty good.

WC spam they emailed me because they spanser my weds beer league team:

World Cup Service Center (WCSC) is pleased to announce that former World Cup racer service technician Blake Lewis has joined our staff of experienced technicians. Blake will be providing the same world-class tuning support he provided over his many years to the National Ski Teams of Austria, Canada and USST. Blake was fortunate to have success with many athletes during his tenure on the circuit; Olympic DH Gold medalist and World Cup winner - Bill Johnson, 4X Speed Skiing World record holder Franz Weber, 3X World Pro Champion Andre Arnold, Phil and Steve Mahre, and Bellevue's own, Alan Lauba. German Ski Magazine called Blake “der Ski Doc, the man with the golden hands, he can make a piece of wood dance”. Blake is respected in the racing community from his days as a World Cup technician, and he is available exclusively at WCSC to do world-class tunes on your skis.

Joe, Eric, Paul, Blake and the rest of the WCSC staff are supported by the most sophisticated ski tuning machinery, from our Winterstieger CNC-precision stonegrinder to the Northwest’s only in-store “hotbox”, we care about your equipment and take great pride in our service. All of our work is 100% guaranteed and completed for you in a timely manner.

Stop by, meet our newest member at WCSC, get your skis tuned, talk cribbage or rock climbing and test your World Cup Trivia.
I haven't used them for tunes. Unless I need basework, which I haven't for several years, my tunes and wax are DIY.

I also like ProSki but only had mounts done there.

Stay away from pilchuck, they fucked up a bunch of simple stuff for a buddy of mine recently.

Sturtevants has great equipment and is a good option, but spendy

I've been sending my stuff to ProSki Seattle lately. Good vibe and they know what they're doing. Just make sure they polish the edges when theyre done. The edges on my last set of tunes rusted up within a day or two. Not a big deal, but finishing with a gummi should have been included with a $35 tune. /end rant
