Copied from Cascade Climbers. Figured it's probably quite useful to everyone here.

Well, Odin tried to ski with me on Saturday with a nonfunctional beacon.
That was neat.
Weird, you have to supply your own batteries? The one that I used in Solitude had its own power supply (unless the other folks there put in batteries). Who's gonna bring 6 C batteries, seems like you'd want to make this as user friendly as possible.
I wish Meadows would open the backcountry. That is all.
This is worth a bump.
I am putting 6 Cs in my regular ski bag tonight with anticipation of stopping at the beacon basin after every trip through Govy. When they make it this easy to get in good practice, it's foolish not to. Plus, I bet if we use it a bunch they'll keep it running next year, which would be nice.
Speaking of easy beacon practice opportunities- any Mags wanna get together for some beacon hide-and-seak? It's a fun night time game that involves whiskey, hiding with your beacon on, and searching. I've only played a couple times at campsites, but it was fun and made members off my group more comfortable and confident with their beacons. Did I mention the whiskey?

I'll play, as long as I get to hold the whiskey while I'm hiding.
I only play "hide the sausage."
