    Stink of summer....

Was riding up the chair the other day and it all of a sudden occurred to me, and I verbalized "THIS SUCKS"!!!

At that point in time I had the full visual of the deep pow and powder laden pillows we were dropping only a few months earlier. I than thought about the feeling I had last Fall knowing that the next months of my life would rock. Indeed, they did. Even though this Winter was short lived, and Ullr was on vacation in March, this was my best Winter hands down. Many, many sick days, only a few of which were captured on film for you guys to view. We did our best to document the stoke, in the 2 short months that we had. This is the cycle of life that you may find yourself in, and than wake up feeling like your life has flown by.
Another year has passed. I'll spend my Summer working my ass off so I may be able to do it again next Winter. I'll work and pass time as best I can only to find myself a year older next Fall, to spend the next 2 or 3 months of my life REALLY living. Maybe we should start a communal clan like the Hutterites, but only have our community based around skiing.

I extend my love to the many, many maggots I've met this Winter. Many, many awesome moments and experiences were shared, and for this I am truly grateful. Keep the stoke alive, skiing is life.

I was just talking to a friend about trips to ski. We talked about the ritual of it all. He talked about rituals he and his buds do when climbing up around 20K to ski; they do a sacrifice. I told him how I have a preparatory spiel I expound to those I'm traveling with about allowing each moment to become a consecutive chain of best moments for the whole journey, by exuding good vibes. Then the rest of the moments just fall in place.

What I gathered from our common, yet different takes (first of all, his undertakings are beyond way more hairball than any I've ever dreamed of) on the conversation was that we had a focus within our groups. (what ever happened to *focus*?) It's not as if everyone in the world could meditate at the same moment and shift our latitude further north or anything. But vibes and common energies do seem to influence outcomes. Although it might have been a meager winter in a lot of places, it's easy to consider it to have been a killer winter irregardless of the less than optimal snowfalls.

But there's nothing in the world like the smell of pine forests in the spring.

As the soil dries for the summer it emits the most fragrant, sweetest perfume. It's a "comfort odor" to me. You could call it "stink" I guess.
