Wakey, Wakey.. Las Lenas Early Roll Call

25cm. of snow tonight forecasted in Las Lenas and cold weather moving in. It's May 2, so it's still early... but damn I can't stop thinking about it.

Aug. 26 or Sept. 2 arrival for 17 days, booyah! Arty50, heading down this year? Not going to cancel, are ya? I think you and the KWeed crew are due for a visit...

Here's to Ullr bringing plenty of snow after the lean season last year...

    Anyone else got plans yet?

Might also have a spare bed- but won't know until probably June.
More stoke from last year on the backside of Cerro Martin.

Bastardo! I'm definitely going down there this year. In fact I'm thinking of making it really worthwhile and heading down there for a few weeks. And yes, we need to recruit other members of the crew. Splat will be down there as always of course, cause he's the mang.

I'm working on it...thinking 2nd or 3rd week of August and still undecided if Portillo or Las Lenas.

Anyone want to jump in w/ our group PM me and I can include you in the planning loop. We have about 10 so far.

Also, once things are more firm w/ our plans in a week or two, I will post up here in case anyone decides to join up. We need a few maggots in the mix!

This is the only kind of wake-up call I like

well i would be there, not that i'm the mang, or anything, just.... well..... that place changes you, and what you see as possible in one day of lift service skiing. i will try my hardest to get back there every year, however this year my stupid knee is not going to cooperate. stupid fucking knee.

I'm planning on it, pending a few cash and school concerns that should work out.

If I've only spent my tax return twice by June, I'll be there!

Thanks for taking one for the team last year, Freshies. Hopefully this year brings more snow.

    Squirrel99,
Your trip sounds great. Is there a place to sign up? A website link?

    Snow Country-
Sorry, no link or 'official trip' This is just something I started doing with a fellow 'Bird passholders a few years ago and we try to make it back each year with another group from Jackson. Not sure if we will end up having a spare bed (I'm still trying to secure the apartment) because it changes on a day-day basis on the who's going, whose not list. I'm hoping to get it all nailed together by the end of May- if possible.

If you are looking to hook up with something organized, you can try the guys at powderquest.com but if they seem a bit spendy, check out laslenasski.com. A few friends of mine run that operation and do a great job. If you got avie gear, don't be afraid to travel solo- plenty of maginion types will be wandering about in August/September and it's easy to meet people.

I'll probably be heading down the second or third week of August to stay for about 2 weeks. As long as I can fly in somewhere (SCL, MEN, BA) for less than $600 and conditions are good I should be a go for LL.
