We're going to Tahoe for our first time. We just have two days to ski. We're skiing Heavenly one day. Any suggestions on where we should spend our other day skiing?

Granlibakken!
Wow, thanks for the great suggestion. That resort looks like a great reward for a 9 hour drive. Do I need to bring my own inner tube, or can I just rent one there? Maybe I could just glide down in a garbage bag.
I heard Boreal has been awesome this year!
not Heavenly
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. The winds will blow their freshness into you, and the storms, their energy. Your cares and tensions will drop away like the leaves of Autumn." --John Muir
"welcome to the hacienda, asshole." --s.p.c.
Don't let the granlibakken trail map fool you. The sidecountry is GNAR there. Especially if you bring a death saucer.
"I knew in an instant that the three dollars I had spent on wine would not go to waste."
Squaw
Alpine
Kirkwood
Rose
Sugar Bowl
Forget Heavenly and pick two from the above list.
Wow, 500 whole feet of vertical?! How can I expect to absorb all that in just one day? Sounds like I'm gonna need at least three days to see even a small portion of that amazing resort. Do they allow snowblades there?
Finally, some non-facetious advice. Thanks. Why would you skip Heavenly? It's the resort we always hear about and the pictures always look so amazing.
After skiing Heavenly it will all be a let down. If I were you I would buy the 2 day pass and save $3.
Your obviously a Troll- anyone who reads this board wouldn't ask such a dumb ass question
Hello darkness my old friend
Depends where you're staying. If South Shore then you ski South Shore resorts (Heavenly, Sierra, Kirkwood possibly). You do not want to drive round the lake/take the paddlewheel shuttle. You DO want to use the search function on this topic. Views from Homewood are better than from Heavenly by the way.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you'll be here on a weekend, right ?
You're getting facetious responses because you're asking a question that's been asked 18,000,000 times before, but apparently, you're too fucking lazy to search.
That's not to say that there aren't ways to ask a related specific question that wouldn't be redundant. For instance, you might think about giving us even the slightest fucking clue about what you like and dislike to ski. But as it stands, you're not going to get many serious answers.
The reason why Heavenly's pictures look amazing is that ski areas prefer north-facing slopes to minimize sun exposure and the melt/freeze cycle, and Heavenly is located on the south shore of the lake.
not counting days 2016-17
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the term "troll". I've never used this before. Just thought I'd try to get some advice from Oh by the way, speaking of dumb ass, it's you're, not your.
What kind of skiing/boarding you looking for: Easy? Lethal? Scenic? Groomers? Off piste?
Or hookahs 'n' blo? BTW, the search function is there and not just because it looks cute.
Every man dies. Not every man lives.
You don’t stop playing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop playing.
Given your sensibilities can I constructively suggest you visit this forum. Even there I would suggest using the SEARCH function (top right of the page).
Send a PM to Tahoegnar420, he's also a Tahoe virgin.
When are the Virgins coming to Tahoe? Are they ready to Schralp?
And kpoll3 - if you are coming for the views - and of the hills on the lake have. If you want to look at the lake while skiing - Heavenly, Homewood and Diamond are the call. If you are willing to stop and look at the lake - Squaw and Alpine can get added to the list.
Heavenly has great trees if you know where to look. The hill has flat spots all over. The crowds go there. The snow quality tends toward poor. If that is your cup of tea - go for it.
Like it has been suggested - stop acting like an ass, tell us what type of skiing you like to do and someone may be able to give good suggestions.
For instance - if you like to huck, slow lifts, no crowds and the weather is good - Kirkwood
If you like lots of trees, high speed lifts and don't mind waiting in line, but like quite in the trees, and it is windy - Sierra
and so on...
PM Rontele, his is the general manager of all the Tahoe resorts, and has a gift for finding the exact resort experience you are looking for.
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot
Unfortunately, there's not much available to ski in tahoe this year.
The Angora wildfires have pretty much wiped out the entire community. Most of the hotels, and most of the ski lifts, are closed for the season.
Try Colorado.
ski squaw and kirkwood, everything else can wait until next time.
