Squaw Beta - days Palisades open?

I will be at Tahoe for a few days and wanted to check out some of the famous lines at Squaw.

I know the Palisades are patrol-closed on weekends for Gaper Safety. Are they generally open all work week (Mon-Fri)? Fridays included? Is this the case with other lines like Mainline, Granite Peak, etc?

    Thx for the beta

I hope you brought some sun screen. Temps will be in the 60's for the rest of the week and then rain is coming in after the weeked!

just skip Tahoe and go to hood or baker. Seriously, Tahoe sucks right now and we are looking at getting more rain next week.

Palisades open weekdays albeit this Monday perhaps not due to the crowds below them traversing the Chicken Bowl

The others you noted are open regardless of the day of the week

beta from my local pals is that the groomers at Squaw and Alpine are pretty darn good.

Half pipe is supposed to open at Squaw too.

like I said, don't get all butt hurt. Covergae is really good, but the warm temps kinda hurt things a little. Reason why tahoe isn't the first choice for a winter destination

With global warming things will only get worse. My prediction, in 10 years there will be no skiing left any more in Tahoe. Better pack up and move to Mammoth.

You aren't going to find deep powder in Tahoe right now, but if you know anything about how to find good snow, you'll have no problem having fun at Squaw or anywhere in Tahoe right now. We've been skiing corn, nice grippy packed powder on the north facing steeps, a fast groomer here and there, and even some nice, if not deep, unconsolidated snow. Mostly BC and a great day at Mt Rose yesterday, don't let others convince you of otherwise.

SKied Squaw today, your a pussy if all you can ski is groomed runs right now! Although it is not epic pow of last week, still pretty damn fun, and if you poke around you might actually find some good snow. It was breezy and cold today so no corn, but found some untracked stuff in CII and just spun laps on Silverado all day. SIlverado was the shit some great steep technicle lines, only 10 footers are doable but definatly some long steep lines (Katmandu, Mother Chute, Beaver Bowl, etc. By the way Palisades, Mainline and Granite Peak were all closed today maybe if it gets a little warmer they will open.

mmm its supposed to get real cold with a chance of snow this weekend into next week. I've been following the reports over the past few days and if it ends up hitting Tahoe and not south we could get a foot or more of pretty dry stuff.
