    TR: The Italian style

    Ciao,
because of a big forecast for the southern alps an friend and mine were excited to ski the weekend and try some (for us) unknown areas. After some PM with verbier61 (which i never met), who gave me the phonenumber of a guy „who skies often there in the south. I ve never met him, but it seems he is a nice guy, here is his phone number“, the descion about where to go got closer. The weathermaps showed to us some nice colours in the south, so we decided to take this jorney of about 4-5h driving instead of skiing the well known areas like Engelberg and Andermatt with only 40-70min driving.

    Break

As we arrived at 11 we cheched the area and yes, it had snowed a bit and is still snowing.
Fantastico. So lets try to find trees in the wood: oh wait: we found some!

OK. We are done. Coming to hte parking lot, we found some new obstacles...

    „NO, Marius DONT SKI THEM!!!“

i will not wait with posting, i don't care if tr is in work.
i kind of felt sorry for you when you thought you were injured. since you figured out that there is actually nothing wrong with you (sic) i have returned to my previous opinion that you are an ass.

Walking through the town at the evening, we felt really romantic. So my friend and me had a wunderful time in our doublebed with one bedspread. Fantastico! No more pics available - sorry!

Waking up and looking through the window: Oh no, I forgot my suncream. Shame on me.

To excited to have a relaxing breakfast...

Lets try it with a rider in the pic....ok, could be better...

After we changed the place, we found a nice lift accessed terrain. So we did it with lots of gapers at the same time.
Sitting in the chairlift to do this line again we saw this!!!!

We skied before about 5m left from the right end of the avi!!! (well, we did it with biglines, all the other were more tumbling than skiing). We thought before this face would be sure because of many tracks. But our guide E. told us later, that the face came down also last week...)
Coming down once more we asked, if we could help for rescue - but nothing happened The guys how did this were really lucky. They skied it in a group of 5 at the same time and only 2 had avalanche stuff.

Taking once more the chair, a guy from this group sat beside me. He told us that they skied it with 5 persons and as they were already at the bottom, the whole face came down!
So only 2 snowboarders get covered till their shoulders and 1 skiers lost his stick.
    Lucky guys....

So we went back to the non blown areas in the woods. I think it is a nice place to be:

But doing this several times our manpower sank and we took the direct line to home.

we were glad to leave this place:

Ok, maybe not the direct line, but this two blondes ones were sreaming for us...

    Driving home at Julierpass

The conclusion: nice weekend, nice pow, nice people. Everything is nice.
Special thanks to Emilio and Alberto for guiding and lodging. Hope to see you soon and ski the BIGLINES in this area when avi danger is „a bit“ more moderate.

ps: sorry for not shooting the real good lines, we did sat and sunday morning - we had to ski! thanks for your understanding.

Nice stuff. The avie thing looks scary, though.

You wouldn't mind telling us the location, would you? (Madesimo?)

    Nice TR.

    One Question...

Why does every single European resort try to look like Vail??

    good question.
another question: are there whales in the lake ?

at Telehoar: maybe the answer is, that most of Europe resorts are some years older then Vail and that this style is a main part of our culture ?

why is vail mimicking older alpine resorts?
and why add beacon to the cornetto? It would be like herrings on an ice cream
