    first real turns - stoke

At last some real skiing. Went up the midi and skied the first couple of pitches of the Grands Envers. We knew that the snow didn't go far enough to ski out so the plan was to skin back up the Petit Envers

The skin back up wasn't quite as straight forward as we expected but it was good fun nevertheless. It was so quiet up there. Not a soul around, skinning back up was almost like meditating.
The snow was dope, dry and silky, and its so long since anyone has been around there that it was as smooth as a billiard table.

You guys seem able to turn anything into an adventure. Everyone else here will get there first turns either on a stip of snow surrounded by 5000 of their closest friends or a fairly mellow pitch high somewhere in the backcountry. There won't be 50 degree pitches, or crevasses. And there definitely won't be any ice climbing involved. Anyway, nice TR!

Phil, your website is awesome! I obviously clicked to check out your "first turns", but being that I am having a nasty case of the Fridays, I've been surfing for a while now.

Thanks for sharing... keep us in the loop when you add more!

    Hey Tom
How was Whistler? Have you got a job lined up here for the winter?

Man, Phil, to say that Iam jealous of your exploits would be the greatest understatement of my life -- thanks for the stoke!! Again

Karl, would it help if I talked to the Mrs. about cutting a little slack so you could go to Cham with us this winter? I actually do know how to beg. Really like it if you could make the trip. You'd dig it soooo much..
