Over the past few years, I've acquired quite the collection of mp3s and with little to no organization, they're spread randomly throughout two hard drives. Is there any, preferably free, program(s) out there that can:
1. Fix ID3 tags via a database lookup/comparison (in a customizable scheme - Track - Artist - Album - Title
2. Re-sort into proper folders following this comparison (in a customizable scheme - Artist - Title)
3. Delete duplicates of files while determining which is the lower quality version.
My plan is to create one large group of files containing everything that I have on an external backup hard drive and then on the laptop hard drive have a smaller more selective grouping of songs that once sorted is much more easily manageable for adding files. I think eventually I'll attempt to rip all of my CDs, but I'd like to have the mp3's sorted properly first before adding more stuff to it.
I started doing it manually, but realized that its quite the undertaking and someone has probably created a program that I can't quite find via google that will take care of this for me.
