    Last Year Alta Stoke

We've been getting so much snow lately, and I realized I have almost one hundred posts and haven't really given you guys much to be stoked about. So here it goes, my program Sustainable Seasons headed up to Alta one day last year on a little carpooling adventure with the Surface Colaborative team members Blake and Jordan. I know its a year old, but I hope ya'll enjoy it.

    Here it is

Umm, nice vid, but other than carpooling, are those mac-mansions at the mouth of the canyon really "sustainable"?

    Just askin'.....

we asked before we jumped the rope line. And I agree about the McMansion thing, funny thing is that shot is totally posed, as that is the house closest to where we were stoped on the access road that day.

All is good in the world. I was kinda serious about the house, but the rope things was just sarcasm (I tried to word it to seem that way.....)

i picked up on the sarcasm, but we really did ask. I am hoping we can duplicate a day like that in the near future, as I think we just about as much snow now as we did last feb, well maybe not quite as much but were getting close.

Driving around the country in a big ass Ford F250 to tell people to carpool is saving the enviroment?

Sure it's biodeisel. But it's alot of excess don't you think? Are you towing massive trailers of sleds? Anything that actually requires that F250? Even with biodeiesl you aren't really making the personal cabron footprint smaller with that thing.

shirk, I know the big truck isn't the ideal vehicle, but because the american car market doesn't produce a midsize diesel vehicle capable of needs a professional skier, the F250 is the next choice. If we could get a smaller diesel truck for the program, we would, but the goal is show that an alternative fuel is still feasible in a mountain environment, so we need a vehicle that is legit for that environment too. Your right that its not a perfect fit, but hopefully it will help open some eyes and in turn be worthwile in the long run. Plus I'm glad everyone is stoked on the skiing.

It's tough to tow a sled with that (and yes I know that the whole idea of a snowmobile is counter to the program, but its kind of a neccesary for certain access). That is what the truck will be traded in for after the end of this season though.
