i can't wait for us to get more of what we deserve in 2008.
Pretty sure our whole system of government is based on the foundation that ONE (wo)MAN doesn't have the power to single-handedly change the status quo. That shit works both ways.

The President proposes legislation, the Congress approves it. You no likey? Then feel free to find a truly stable country, both politically and economically, where that isn't the case. Good luck.

    Congrats!
D'ya think the independents figured Obama had it locked up, due to the last poll before the primary, and decided to vote Republican for McCain instead? I got a similar feelin' from a recent local election - basically seemed like voters took a look at the most recent poll and then changed their minds while assuming nobody else would.

I would say that was true if the turnouts #s weren't so skewed towards the Democrats. In my region alone Democratic turnout was 400% higher than the R turnout, with 80% of Is voting Democrat.

I need to go to sleep now, 6 hrs of rest in 3 days is not enough.

Barack needs to start getting specific if he wants to win, and even if he does capture the nomination, today's reality check will make him a stronger candidate. I guess I get to keep my job.

Core Shot, want to go skiing sometime soon?

That guy (obama) is as full of shit as the rest of them. I dont buy it.

Congrats on the job. Can you get me a hat?

Ditto on the congratulations. I'm totally shocked and happy about this, but not because I support Hillary.

Personally I think that Dems voting in NH knew that a lot more was at stake if they voted for Obama than it was for Iowa voters - ie an Obama victory in NH might have been the end of Hillary, and voters knew that. Democrats are not ready to put Hillary's campaign to rest.

Also, compared to Iowa, everybody gets to vote in NH, absentee, whatever. I couldn't vote in Iowa because I have a job and obligations. People with jobs and obligations might tend to be more cautious and measured.

Like you said, this will make Obama a better candidate, which makes tonight a win for everybody.

Big victory for Barack. Makes Feb 5th a whole lot more interesting. I didn't expect that big of a win at all.

You see all that Obama drumbeating is paying off for you! This was a big, big margin of victory. Congrats.

Shit just keeps getting more interesting.

I'm sad that Edwards hasn't been a part of much excitement, save for moderating the debates and making the most sense he lacks the sort of steeze that Americans seem to need in a president.

Well, I'm glad that Edwards is still in the race. His progressive rhetoric (though he was hardly a progressive as a senator) has definitely pushed both Obama and Hillary in that direction, which is a good thing.

It will be interesting to see whether he sticks it out until the convention

Hey Masslib, if you see Bill, kick him in the balls for me.

    Some interesting stats from tonight:

    Barack Obama 281,413 55%
    Hillary Clinton 134,781 27%
    John Edwards 90,600 18%
    Dennis Kucinich 526 0%

    Total Turnout:
    Democrats 507,320
    Republicans 442,918

Obama got more votes today than the TOTAL NUMBER OF DEMOCRATIC VOTES in the SC primary in 2004.

Obama received more SC primary votes that McCain and Huckabee COMBINED.They were the #1 and #2 finishers in the Republican party last week.

I can't find his victory speech tonight on Youtube, but here is a link: http://polijamblog.com/?p=110

Look at how fucking stoked these people are. FUCK YEAH.

    edit: OBAMA/PHuNK 08!!!!!!

I can't understand a vote for Hillary at this point. The whole reason for this is to nominate someone who can beat the nominated Republican well I think this makes it pretty clear. Even here in dumbfuck conservative Utah I routinley here people (conservative people) saying how they find Obamma inspiring.

Why vote for someone the Repubs hate as much or more than we Dems hate Bushy?

That's a really fucking good question.

Obama has what she doesn;t - and that is he's an outsider. Hillary wants it both ways - she is an experienced insider, or an experienced outsider, depending on what you want to hear. The fresh face will win this. You put hillary against Mccain? he'll trot out the "fear" and we're back to the same old r games we've been dealing with for the last 8 years. fear. muslims. war. fear. hate.

Barack is pretty damn conservative for a D, which i mostly do not mind, especially compared to her. You would think that she is going to be much less appealing to the Rs if in fact she gets the nod.

Word on the tube is that he has offered Edwards the AG seat. John woulod be wise to team up, but i am not sure he will.

Hillary has a short list for Veep, including Bayh from my home state.

    we shall see.
