I really think with B. O . our agenda will be furthered. I really believe making all roadless areas, wilderness areas. With B. O. our goal will be achieved. We just call it the broadbrush approach.

If you are a mountain biker and vote for B.O. you better not like biking in roadless areas.

But you will give your rights up for the animals.

Thank you for your willingness to give up use to wolverine habitat.

    Thank you again.

The modern day D.C based enviro lobby.

    Go Barack go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and there's one more problem with that argument. Previous (and still current) FISA legislation allows the government to conduct surveillance and then seek a warrant retroactively. So the warrantless program was technically unnecessary. This points to b) being the most likely scenario.
I agree with you that warrentless wiretapping is directly forbidden. I was trying to verbalize some possibilities as to why everyone is towing the line on this one.

The more I think about it, the more I think possibility B is closer to the truth.

You're welcome. I'm also quite concerned with lynx and the abominable assclown too.

Oh right, I wasn't trying to argue. Just furthering the discussion based on your post.

Obama won the I'm such a pop icon I can get away with stealing someone else's work metal. And he was not as good as the original.

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Haha. BFD. They are good friends and Patrick has said he has no problem with it.

    I'm sure MLK doesn't, either.

Patrick: Plagiarism Accusation Against Obama 'Extravagant'

Quote Originally Posted by ABC News
The man credited with writing Sen. Barack Obama's "power of words" speech today called the plagiarism accusation "not fair" and said it was an attempt to "belittle his ability to motivate people."

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick told "Good Morning America" that Sen. Hillary Clinton was wrong to accuse Obama of poaching his lines.

"It's an elaborate charge and an extravagant one," Patrick said.

The accusation has dominated the debate as Obama and Clinton battle for votes in today's Wisconsin primary.

The Clinton campaign has specifically cited a phrase pulled from one of Patrick's gubernatorial campaign speeches, which champions the power of words.

In 2006 Patrick gave a speech quoting famous phrases: "'We have nothing to fear, but fear itself,' & just words. 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.' Just words. & 'I have a dream' & just words,'" he said, switching effortlessly from FDR to JFK to MLK.

On Saturday in Wisconsin, Obama said, "Don't tell me words don't matter. & 'I have a dream.' Just words. 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself.' Just words. Just speeches."

Obama also campaigned in 2004 on the slogan, "Yes we can," which Patrick did in 2006.

Clinton responded Monday by saying, "If your whole candidacy is about words, they should be your words."

Patrick called the comment "not fair" and said, "It's not just about words, it's about great ideas. & These are iconic phrases."

Patrick says an allegation such as plagiarism is too much. "It's not like he's writing a law review article or a book. He should have credited me two words," the governor said.

Patrick and Obama have longstanding ties and similarities. Like Obama, Patrick faced a tough race against a woman, is a fellow Harvard grad and the two are old friends. They even share political adviser David Axelrod.

"I've known Barack 15 years. We've talked a good deal. I fully expected he would sustain a charge at some point, trying to belittle his ability to motivate people. I got the same attack," Patrick said.

Obama has conceded that he should have credited Patrick. "I was on the stump. He [Deval] suggested we use these lines. I thought they were good lines. I'm sure I should have. Didn't this time."

In 1998 Sen. Joseph Biden was driven out of the Democratic nomination race after he used parts of a speech from British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock, without crediting him.

Patrick said, "This isn't that," referring to what occurred with Biden. "He could have cited me in Wisconsin and everyone would have said 'who is that?'& Nobody's policies end up on the side of monuments or great buildings in Washington. I think it's a great power."

Interestingly, Obama didn't coin the phrase "Yes, We Can" or "Sí se puede." Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta coined the phrase in 1972, and the United Farm Workers defended it as their intellectual property when AeroMexico applied for trademark protection of the phrase.

Also, amazingly, "Yes we can" has been used by billions and billions of people when respoding to questions like "do you think you guys could do that?"

    ding ding ding

We ran Nixon out of office for stealing some campaign notebooks from a hotel.

The Bush administration and AT&T are running all the cell phone and Internet traffic on the West Coast straight into the NSA. This makes Watergate look like a kindergarten prank.

If the punishments were proportional to the offense, nearly everyone in the Bush administration would be found guilty of treason and immediately jailed as traitors just for the AT&T case...let alone outing Valerie Plame (treason), deliberately providing false information to the public in order to incite war with Iraq (treason), etc. This is not an exaggeration.

No one understands this, because the media doesn't present it as something worthy of outrage. This is because a surveillance society and perpetual war are in the interests of the large corporations that control America and its media.

when I worked for T-Mobile a couple of years ago, I went to the local switch and saw a box labeled "Property of FBI - Do not remove or tamper". When I asked the lead engineer about it he said, "We have those in every switch in the US. We have to. It used to be that they would have to get a warrant every time they wanted to tap a line, now they just access their box. Less work for everyone."

    No bullshit.

Wow... Don't know what part of the state is still out; but with 88.54% of precincts reporting looking like Obama is TROUNCING Clinton in Wisconsin. Now 58% Obama to 41% Clinton!
