    Tailgate party at Louise. When?

Okay Canadian Rockies mags, Playharder came up with the idea a while back, so let's do this.

Only two weekends left at Louise, so who is interested, around, etc? Maybe set up a tailgate party in parking lot #1, fire up the BBQ either for lunch or apres ski (or both). Make some turns, catch some rays?

What's everyone's preference for the weekend and day? Right now the forecast looks good for spring skiing this weekend, so I would vote for this Saturday. But I am available whenever.

(And if you people already did this and I missed it I'll be very choked. )

f'in knee, f'in rehab. Pisses me off that I can't ski, and have to miss all of these things.

My vote is for next spring

I was thinking the Saturday of closing weekend sounded good, but I'm pretty flexible. Would like to see as many as possible out, so why don't we keep this bumped for feedback?

Final weekend might work, especially if Powslut can't do this weekend.

I've been asking at the hill if they are going to do the same thing as last season and have free skiing for any Louise card holders, other RCR season's passers, etc on the final weekend. But no one knows or is willing to talk about it yet. If they did do it, that could get a few more mags out that don't have any LL passes left.

Hey Canuk, a nice drive into the mountains and some BBQ burgers would probably be good for your knee. Just bring a lawnchair and leave the sticks behind so you're not tempted.

I would vote for this weekend. Christ Powslut what's wrong with you can't you get a job where they'll accomodate your schedule. What kind of pricks do you work for? Also if your brother doesn't get my binding plate back to me today KICK HIS ASS! Don't know if I'll still be around by the last weekend.

Today's report......... IT SUCKED. 12cm my ass more like 2-3 and the patrol said they measured 3-5. Frozen solid clumps of shit and too cold to thaw. I went and spoke to the GM and tuned him on the website snow depth claims. He claimed an honest mistake and promised to change it right away.

Yep it's been changed to the 2-3 that was actually there.

Powslut, you don't have to kick your brother's ass, he already returned the plate. He made his day real short too.

Good work letting them know the snow report was bullshit. But I notice the mountain top snow base is now a very healthy 869"

I saw that too. I'm not sure if they're measuring a drift behind a fence or that really just is an input error. I don't think it's been high like that all seaon.

You can get an operation for that like most of the girls at Cowboys. Just think of the tips.

Would be cool to meet up with this crew but sadly my season is over.

sidenote/hijack: I have two passes for sunshine i need to get ride of. $50 for both (cheaper than the discounted sunshine card, valid anytime bwtween now and the end of the season). I won't be able to use these so if anyone is interested post here or drop me an e-mail (boardname) AT netscape DOT net.

    Git sum!

I also have a couple of leftover SSV passes. Maybe we can arrange a trade?

Another option: Even though those passes have an expiry date you can probably trade them in for new ones next season. You'll have to do it at the Calgary office and pay any amount that lift tickets have gone up, maybe a couple bucks each ticket or whatever.

I've done this the past two seasons, but you should probably check with Sunshine before taking my word for it. They may have changed that policy. The Lake used to accept ticket vouchers up to five years after their expiration date with NO extra charge, but with the way RCR is going I doubt that is the case anymore.

For the SSV tickets what about using them for a hour and them returning them for a "snow check" as conditons suck. I think that the snow check will be good for next year too?

Ask at the bottom first I guess.

Either weekend is good for me. No internet access during the week at my new job (or skiing ) but patrolling at LL on weekends. See you up there.

It looks like the weather is going back into winter mode later this week, but I'm still up for a closing weekend blowout at the Lake.

So I guess that means Saturday, May 8. (Sunday is Mom's day.)

Set up in Parking Lot #1, schralp the spring pow (cross fingers), chew some BBQ cow, have a few cheap ones, etc. Anyone and everyone welcome. (Except shorty ski posers and snow bikers )

What would be people's preference: Fire up the barbie for lunch, or have a late-lunch/early supper after 4:30 when the lifts close? Or do both? (Mmmm, barbecue.)

I can bring a tarp and poles to rig up a sort of festival tent if the weather is sucky. Also a bunch of cheapo patio chairs and a folding table for the BBQ fixings. Anyone else got stuff they can bring?

Playharder if you drive I'll bring your beer. Still owe you for that night in Fernie and ride or 2.

Just checked dates this morning and somehow missed that this Sat is also the date for a work related steak/lobster bbq.
I'll definitely be up Sat AM, but will have to bail by about 2:00 (not sure if this will fit for a ride, Doug, but you're obviously welcome to one if you want). On a related note: my portable bbq has gone missing as well.

I think we should change plans and all join PlayHarder at his bbq. I love steak AND lobster.

PlayHarder, let us know where and when.

No? Okay fine. But I'm sure we would have been well behaved.

Anyways, I have a portable BBQ that I stole from PlayHarder's garage when he wasn't home, so I can bring that.

PH, we'll still catch you for some turns on Saturday and maybe a lunchtime burger. Doug, I would offer a ride but I am going to stay in Banff on Saturday night.

I've got some other accessories for it, I'll bring them out for you on Saturday.

Hope the weather coming through dumps some white stuff this week. The backside was lots of fun on the weekend, still a ton o' snow up there. The run back at the end of the day involved some emergency bunny hops and creatively switching from ski to ski to navigate a few of the dirt runs down low, though.
