    Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance???

Going on a heli trip for the first time. I usually do the travel solo, make all reservations myself way, but this one is a book all upfront type of dealeo.

Soo, who buys travel insurance when doing these sorts of trips? I guess it would cover me if I got hurt in the next 6 weeks before the trip, or couldn't get there for some reason, or I got hurt mid-way through the trip. It would cost about $200 to cover me for the 4 day trip... I don't believe its medical coverage during the trip as that is from my health insurance.

    What say yee maggots?

I bought trip insurance before I went to Europe last fall. In the grand scheme of things, the extra 150-200 isn't so awful.

The travel insurance quotes that I've received included medical coverage from 50 to 500K in medical expenses while overseas. Additional coverage if your existing plan is limited/ or does not provide service coverage outside the network.
I told you to tell them

if your paying 5 grand for a trip, a couple hundy is nothing. Look at it this way, if you don't, you'll get hurt and won't be able to go. If you buy it, everything will be ok. karma gets you that way.

Check AIG Insurance, they have an adventure sports insurance. Since some companies will drop your claim when they find out you were heli skiing in the backcountry. The link is to some i bought, you have to change the location, dates etc to match your trip.

True, many policies will not cover you if out of bounds/ backcountry. I believe coverage would still apply if you heli through the resorts heli company with their guide.
