    Crystal Beacon Practice Area Open

    Behind the Campbell Basin Lodge.

And be careful touring in the area. There's a few bad layers down there, and Patrol has been getting large results in area both with explosives and ski cuts.

    Thanks C.

Hopefully the weight of opening Northway won't impinge too heavily on SB.

I'm guessing that Damn Fine has something to do with Avalanche Basin runout trees.

Yeah, right above bottom of 6.
That weak layer is still persisting on some southern slopes:

And as expected the warm and windy storm coming in created easily intiated new storm snow instability.
This released today touring around pickhandle on a NW slope:

Fortunatlly it should settle out real quick

There was a larger explosive induced release just past boxcar, before the 3-way chutes on monday, if that's what you're looking for.

No I was wondering about the Sunday slide that closed 6 for a bit. It's still spooky up there.

And thanks for all your work.

It was actually in Pinball on the North Face of the King. And 6 went on wind hold, it wasn't closed because of it.

It's an Avalanche Prone Area and is advertised as such. Wear your beacon, bring your probe and shovel, ski with a partner.
