ummmm.... Mr. Toads is usually good to go around beginning of July. Probably earlier this year cause of the dry spring, but I don't think it will be doable this weekend.

I would love to ride this weekend though, unfortunately it will have to be some of the lower altitude, slightly tamer trails.

Thanks lph! What are some doable good trails right now? Anything similar to Skegg's (DH and XC technical singletrack)

Got a little too excited after reading this description of Mr Toad's

Hardrider and I did Corral loop on monday and it was a blast. In great shape, moderately technical rock sections and some really fast sections.

On tuesday we did Tahoe Mtn. Uphill was great, rock garden leading to it was great. We chose one of the 3 possible ways down and it still had quite a bit of snow on it, lots of manzanita and some downed trees. One of the other descents are probably better. I might try to get back out there tomorrow afternoon to see how the Darth Vader descent is.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Last week Dunderdome didn't look like fun, but I highly recommend you find and hit the G-Spot Chute...

It's looking like a group of us (well, probably me and Mr. Powder at least) will be doing VL Saturday and Tioga on Sunday.

Probably skiing tomorrow and Sun morning. Wanna check out some Tahoe trails? I used to ride the one that starts from near Heavenly and goes to powerlines in Meyers, but it was mostly XC, not bombing DH.

ya, powerline is a bit boring.

coral loop dumps into the end of powerline trail, pretty close to my house.

might be able to get ron up for some biking if you pick him and his gear up in your truck. he has the MIATA this weekend.

    Ride: sorted

We'll be there 10 @ 10, but we'd like to hook up with a passholder before then so's we can get the cheap lift tickets.

If anyone feels charitable, we'll be at the Red Cliffs ticket window at 9ish. Or PM me your cell if you've got a better idea.

I'm meeting splat chair 6 at 9, if you'd wanna meet there, I could skip a early morning icy groomer run or two.

Soon... soon.... one last thing before I'm outta here.

    edit: I'm out. 4:06pm. A new record.

What happened, did his penis fall off?

    I've left him a VM.

Will also try and round up a ride crew (Sobchak, Arty, etc) for Sat afternoon

(Edit: Spats- the ticket price is $25 and if you buy one for Sat it is also valid on Sunday. Not sure if they offer a passholder discount on top of that, but if they do I've PM'd you my cell)

    Update:

Kirkweeders are fragmenting this w/end. Some heading to Tioga, some heading to parts unknown in the BC.

Looks like Me and Arty are definitely up for KW Sat and then an afternoon ride. lph- will call you later to see what you're up to and to get your trail recommendations

Last I checked, all passholders could buy two $20 tickets each day. These tickets are also good for two days. So you'll save $5 and get two days of skiing. Since normal lift tickets are only $25 now, maybe the passholder discount is more. Who knows.

Also, I knocked myself out of the Eastern Sierra trip today. Hit a nice branch doing mach schnell on 666's No Name Kiwi skis. It's feeling better, but climbing ain't gonna happen. Especially climbing of the 4,000 ft variety. So I'll just stick to the Wood. Tomorrow's a maybe. Sunday should be OK.

As for the Kiwi skis..BEST...SKIS...EVAR!!!! I'll drop a review after 666 posts his. Seriously though, I love these things.

Is there any poison oak on these trails this time of year? I refuse to get myself into any more of this stuff!!

Tomorrow's location is up in the air...could be Alpine M and could be Kirkwood. Looks like it'll have to be Kirkwood!

Spats - I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier...I'm heading up to North Lake tonight...you're probably already on your way. Maybe we'll see you at the wood!!
