Thumbs up KIRKWOOD ROLL CALL 5/1--5/2

I don't give a shit if the mountain is only open until 2pm. Working out in 95 degree heat has made me crazy. I'm gonna be there, so should you.

    Reasons to be there:
    * DJSapp now has health insurance (didn't have any all season hence my tenative skiing) and wants to test it out
    * DJSapp is making the 7+ hour LA-->Kirkwood commute so you better sack up
    * Work on your mad lift operated steez before the mammy mini
    * IT'S SKIING FOR CHRISTSAKE!!!!!!!!
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Sorry dude higher elevations and earning my turns season has begun. I'll be down in Virginia lakes, skiing, sunning, and drinking beer at a 9600 foot trail head.

Well, I wasn't going to until you said you were going...

Moderate to good possibility. I was up there Sunday. It was fun (although really sticky in places since it hasn't frozen for a while up there). I just gotta figure out how to get up there from where I'm now at in less time then 2 3/4 hours each way. Otherwise, I'll head to Alpine or whatever's open on the North Shore.

Hey Tyrone - you're out east of Sacramento, right? What do you think is the quickest way up from Lincoln? (Mapquest shows the shortest route using Emmigrant Trail, but I believe it's still closed.)

Nate - youhitting those steeps north of Virginia Lake? Nice stuff.

DJ - you can cross at Folsom to get to 50 and Mormon Emigrant Trail will be open - or just drive around the gates and watch for rocks and ice up high in the shadows.

You can't pick up Mormon Emigrant Trail until Pollock Pines I believe.

Uber -- PM me your digits.

oh and I doubt I'll be at KW this weekend. If I'm able to ski at all this weekend it will be on Sunday, and even then, the odds are that I'll be hiking.

If it's still looking continuous, I'll probably hit the Chute on the south side of Dunderberg again. Nice 3k chute. Other than that, I'll just climb and ski whatever is calling to me. I'm thinking some of the north chutes on south peak need some tracks too.

As far as I know right now, I'll be at Alpine Meadows on Saturday in the am. The rest of the day I'll be mountain biking (thanks Lego) and then road biking on Sunday. Ah, what a life!

Greydon and I took a peak at that on Sunday.....it's "sort of" continuous. It's getting pretty damn melted out......the chutes & bowls on the north side are holding much more snow (predictably).

Yeah, it's melting out a month earlier than it did last year. Saw some pics of it from BCRider. No telling what it'll be like by Sat.

    Gotta love tahoe right now.

I have been contemplating the tahoe trifecta; b/c skiing morning, mountain bike ride afternoon and golf in the evening. Then cap it off with some sushi.

    Screw the golf....

bc skiing in the morning, mtb in the afternoon, and an evening/moonlight paddle on the lake.

yup, that was hardrider's suggestion as well.

but even better how about run the truckee river from 50 just off before you go up echo summit down to tahoe keys marina. should be cold, fast and fun right now. only problem is that would chew up some serious time with the kayaks, car shuttle etc... might be hard to include that in a trifecta.

DG, gotta end that day with sushi.

If you haven't been out on Lake tahoe for a sunset, you just don't know.

Not to mention, if you're lucky enough to have a "friend" out there with you of the opposite gender it increases your chances of getting laid....

Kellie - you're taking me way too seriously. I was just stating the fact that Telenater sounds like a weak little woman.

I hope sarcasm is not yet dead on this forum.

Careful, Uber. I can tell you've never had your ass kicked by one of these bad-assed babes. (Keep 'em serene)

I'd be up for toe-dangling off the dock and sushi during a multi-colored sunset after skiing, kayaking, mountainbiking and a Seinfeld rerun.

You know, I was being a bit sarcastic, but that actually sounds pleasant.

    SERENITY NOW!

But not *too* sensitive, or else they'll turn into pussies
Hey I'll be in Tahoe both days this weekend, so there is a slight chance one of those days will be spent at Kirkwood.
