    Avon/Vail Here I Come....

So I got the word that I'll be working as an intern for liberty skis out in avon for the season. I'm real excited to be part of a cool and relatively young company in the industry but I know absolutely no one in the area. If anyone has a hookup for a season pass let me know. Was hoping some mags could point me in the right direction in terms of housing and other important stuff to know. I've already PMed Rontele and Iceman about it

Anyways I start on the 7th of january and would like to meet some people in the area. Thanks and look forward to living out in colorado for the season.

What's a season pass at Vail going for these days? $10,000?
"Oh, no pics. To simulate the skiing today, walk out your door, grab a handful of snow, and throw it in your face. Repeat as necessary.
If you don't have snow outside your door, what the fuck are you living there for?"

I think it's maybe $1800 or something like that for a pass. Best bet on a season pass if Liberty isn't helping out with it is to probably get a part time job at a business that will hook you up. Don't know any other reasonable way to get a pass at this point.

Tell Liberty to join one of the merchant associations, Vail chamber, eagle county chamber, etc....and you can get the merchant pass for 863. Housing- it's expensive and hard to find this time of year, you should be able to find something. Look in the Vail Daily. PM me if you need anymore info. Have fun.

You can volunteer with Vail/BC a couple times to get a pass. You can also work Nastar or scan tickets once a week to get one as well. As for housing, try the Vail Daily, I'm sure there are plenty of people looking for roommates and such. Sounds like a fun opportunity though.

My understanding after talking to Chris at liberty is that they had already given out their allocated seasons passes so I would be left to fend for myself. I figured the next best way was to get a part time job as a waiter at one of the resort restaurants. That way I can still make some decent money a couple nights a week and get the benefits of a pass. As for my duties at liberty, they website outlines it as "You will get to experience firsthand the daily operations of the ski industry, including marketing, product development and testing, and lots of other fun stuff." I take this to mean that I will become a master at brewing coffee.

Hope to meet some of you all when I head out there in two weeks.

I've heard Chris is rounding up an entourage, I'm pretty sure that's what you'll be up to.

Maybe when he goes to SIA at the end of January it can be like that episode of Entourage....
