I was curious what the consensus was on mounting a ski... Is there a consensus? Keep in mind this isn't a "Where should I mount my skis" thread, it is a discussion about what difference the mounting position makes.
Also, I searched for this before, and I may not have been using the correct terms to search. If this has been covered before, could someone please direct me to that discussion?
Ski: Profit 100
Length: 186 cm (actual ski length 184.5)
Midsole (factory): 100 cm from tip
Current mounting: 99 cm from tip
Considered mounting: 101 cm from tip
My dilemma:
I have Line Profit 100s. I had initially mounted them +4 (because my Seths were mounted as such and I loved them). This sucked. I re-mounted them at +1. Because the screws in my bindings were 4 cm apart I couldn't mount them on the midsole line or holes would line up. Here they are great! At +1 I feel like I have a lot of tail, and the ski is more jib oriented.
I'm at +1 now, and I'm considering moving to -1.
My question:
Would the -2 cm make enough of a difference that I should do it? Or is this a waste and I should stop being a "whinny-gaper-pussy"?
Thanks in advance!
