Personally, I was crushed when I first met APK.

snorkeldeep was a lot taller in reality. When it's deep enough that he needs a snorkel, the rest of us need a scuba tank.

Oh, and in real life I'm a bigger geek than AKPM.

at a ski movie premier a season or two ago i met vinzclortho- but that's not my point.

we met a kid wearing a yellow jacket who claimed to be tyrone shoelaces, the one from the powder magazine board. i'm not sure who the kid was... but i know that he wasn't mr. shoelaces. there are most likely bunches of tyrone impersonators out there, so always be sure to double check for authenticity.

so who was that kid wearing the yellow jacket???

I like Blurred on the board. He posts, and is involved in better stoke than most others.

I'm a much bigger asshole in real life.

There have been only a handful of maggots I've met in person who I didn't like.

What kicks me is how once you get us all on the hill, you realize quickly what a bunch of sandbaggers we all are! Never met a maggot who couldn't hang, and most are quiet, understated rrrrippers.

And to all those who'd single out mean old Brett... well, you just don't know.

If you were still a dude in this description then I am closer to relieved than disappointed. Yikes.
You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bowstaff.

I dig everyone I've met from the board. And by now, that's actually a fair number of you. Not a soul I wouldn't want to spend a day on the hill with, or an evening at the bar with.

Unlike some others, I actually think I'm more hyper in real life than on the board. I talk more than I type. Scary.

That's actually true. I've read some of his posts, and sometimes I'm thinking, damn what an A-hole. But his stoke (edit: titties/norks) more than makes up for it. That's the whole point of this board.

    I agree with WSD.

And as for myself, I've been called a freak in real life...in a good way of course. Good-freaky. Those who really know me think I'm too damned happy all the time, but that's just my natural way. I have a dark side, too, but that usually comes out in what I think is funny. I think I'm pretty much the same in real life as on the board. But I haven't really been on the board long enough to come to any consensus between the two.

In real life I don't ski... just on the internet... where I'm also a race-car driver, secret agent, high-profile defense attorney, astronaut, and a viking.

Time to bust out one of my favourite quotes:

"This is what I find most encouraging about the writing
trades: They allow mediocre people who are patient and
industrious to revise their stupidity, to edit themselves
into something like intelligence. They also allow lunatics
    to seem saner than sane."
    - Kurt Vonnegut

Sick and ashamed and happy (and, yeah, my fears of _roo exploding various portions of the flophouse were indeed ill-founded (though his excitement over the Big William sure fit the bill)),
