    Tree ski title bout

I am looking for a powder ski that I can turn in the tight trees, and then take out to a back bowl and make big GS turns. I am looking at two options right now because I have found some deals.

    175 sumo
    prophet 130

It sounds like the sumos are not quite enough, but they seem like they would be OK at the width. Definitely shorter than I am used to. I hear that the Prophet 130's are really big mountain skis, and I wonder if I could get them around in the trees.

I weight 140#, and am about 5'9" or 5'10". I would consider myself a solid skier. My previous powder skis have been the armada ants, but I dont like the length in the trees. I just cant get them around when it is heavy powder. I havent seen any threads on this comparison, so here it is. Should I just throw both of the cheap options out the window and go praxis?

    thanks

I was thinking about picking up some Sumos myself. Sounds like I'm looking for about the same thing as you are in a ski although I got some pounds on you so I'd probably go for the 190. I'm a little concerned about their durability though, sounds like they aren't the beefiest skis out there. Can anyone comment on their durability?

this bout has been won by the 186 DB tabla rasa, all others pale in comparison, start looking now and you might find one in a year or so
Three fundamentals of every extreme skier, total disregard for personal saftey, amphetamines, and lots and lots of malt liquor......-jack handy

Moment Ruby. It's absolutely sublime in deep snow. Snappy in the trees and a friggin caddy in open terrain. Added bonus is that it'll rail a soft groomer back to the lift and is a hoot in tracked out snow.

Although I'm partial to a particular company, those on the Praxis should be plenty happy with their ski in the trees.

Hmm... I can find sumos around for really cheap, less than 400 bucks cheap. Same with the 130's. Is it worth it to throw down the extra money?
