Seth vs Ant vs Scratch steeze

so ive searched and searched but still havent found a whole lot about the comparisoons of these skis

im currently riding a pair of last years 189 seth and having alot of fun on them, but ive been considering buying a new pair of everyday sticks and mount some dukes on the seths.

im just wondering what the advantages of the ant and steeze would be over the seth...i know the ant can haul ass and likes to go straight, but im wondering if the shorter running length and light weight will make it easier to throw around on jump turns in those sketchy spots...same thing with the steeze, i havent heard much about the flex, and how they ski so i was wondering if anyone had any info on them

    thanks alot

i just sold my ants and got some steeze. side by side flex, ANts are stiffer, but not by much.

I've ridden ANTs a bunch, I've got 189 Viciouses, and should get out on my buddy's steezes over the next week/week and a half, so I will report back then. Hand flexing them though they look sweet. He's going to be using them as an everyday ski.

oh and if it helps at all im like 6'2" 165 lbs, fairly aggresive skier, i ski sunshine so i hit the dive and wild west alot, which have big terrain as well as tight ass trees below them, and alot of minigolf sorta hits off standish so i wanna ski that can haul ass, stick landings, but also decently easy to throw around in a sketchy no fall zone sorta situation

I skied my ANT's for the first time on hardpack/ice the other day, they didnt seem to be that hard to handle(im 6' 185-190lbs), they feel big when your going slow, but when you get them up to speed they dont seem so big. Once I get some freshies to ski on, Ill let you know how they feel.

You might look at the ANTs for your AT ski, i beleive they are lighter than your vicious'.....

ANTs kill it for everyday skiing. Stiff, great at busting crud, and just enough sidecut to rail GS type turns. The tips tend to dive at slower speeds in powder if it's more than a few inches though.

Kind of considering the same options as you here though, got a pair of last year's 189 Seths which I'm contemplating mounting, but it seems like a bit of overlap. Seths basically have a bit more sidecut, shorter twin (ie longer running length), and slightly softer flex as far as I can tell. ANTs are a touch lighter too. Any other real differences?

From picking them up in a shop, this year's are ridiculously light, lighter than my 05/06s for sure, which aren't too bad to begin with. They'd probably make a sweet touring setup with dukes.

You are probably bigger than me, and I can turn my ants everywhere at 5'9" 135-140#. That is, everywhere except heavy powder in tight trees.

    0708 ants

sorry for the thread hi jack. but ,can anyone comment on this years ANTS ? they don't seem to have the huge amount of camber the older ones used to have plus they seem to have a nice flex. so they kind of got me interested.

anyone ski this years model ?

    thanks

I was on 05-06 (flower graphic) last year and have the new ones now. They feel pretty much identical, maybe a touch softer (but I think they made that change in 06-07). Not a noticeable difference to me.

I abused a par of 185 Steeze in early December and really loved them. They are extremely playfull and easy to control, way more playfull than the Seths. I found the flex quite soft, which made them a blast between the trees and in light powder, but a bit more scetchy when going fast, especially on hardpacked snow. Being a large, skier 6'3 and 220 pounds, I found them to soft for me as an everyday ski, but as a backcountry playstick they are pure joy!
