Honestly if this warm/dry weather continues into November, we might be set up for a great snowpack for once. I know it won't work out... but still...

Snuck in a bike ride, between meetings and snowstorms. The single track was perfect tacky, but my hands were cold, temp was 40F. Mt Massive is white on the east faces.

this weather is definitely putting a damper on the riding this weekend. maybe need to focus on getting first chair on treasure tomorrow.

Planning to take the skis out for a walk tomorrow. Maybe even later today too. While I’m out I’ll ignore the memories of October skiing followed by winters plagued with high pressure systems.

Its was 60+ at 8500 yesterday afternoon and how it is snowing. And so it goes. Resist seasonal change over. Keep the mucks next to the flops 365.

Looks like a couple of inches at abasin this morning. OpenSnow is telling me we’re back in the mid-high 40s after today. And so it goes indeed.

Apparently Wolf Creek is looking at possible 30 inches. They were still working on the parking lot today. Which is still free.

Best first day I've had (let alone opening day!).

Fairly empty groomer zoomers and some legit pow turns (some even in a row!).

Peak 1, I was just talking about it this morning. Climbed it with a buddy and forgot to put the mem card in the camera. Loser move.

The “parking guide” to ABasin just came out. Reservations for the following weekend go online at 2pm Mondays.
I’m still not sure how they’ll check vehicles for compliance? At the lot gates (which will cause big backups) or after the vehicles are parked?
Also, what happens when your kid is in a multi week lesson program and you aren’t able to get a reservation. Do you drop off and then come back, unable to ski yourself? Fuck that.

They're trying to reduce the number of people that go to A-Basin on the weekend.
