Guess I’ll keep it going... busiest day so far at the basin including A beyond full maze at Pali for a while. But the skiing was pretty nice and they opened beavers lift with access to Davis (didn’t ski great by time I got there but ah well) and Pali face and international opened later in the day. I think Pali face area has been opening most days but they seem to like to delay it until afternoon for the time being.

Got a few runs in on Pali, it was good, but got gang banged pretty hard right off the bat. Team Summit was 50% of the overflowing maze by my third lap.
And the way they have the lift line set up for Pali is fucking retarded. Whatever, still nice to get some laps in on Pali before work. Can't wait till the holidays are over and midweek settles down.

Was pleasantly surprised being able to rock up to current creek TH after 9am on a holiday week and easily get parking for 4 cars in the non-overflow. Skiing was damn good. Snowed from arrival til our last lap around 2:30.

First couple of laps took 25 minutes on the silver queen at CB. That's about as long as I've ever seen it. Still, if everyone was filling the chairs the wait would have been half, which would be normal for a Christmas break powder day.

If they had someone calling ‘front row’ it would be a lot more manageable. Of course there would still be plenty of folks who can’t seem to figure out how to put their pass in their left pocket.

After lunch the guy bumping the chairs on Pali was calling front row. The best I saw was a guy with his pass in a cargo pocket lifting his leg up trying to get it to scan.

I’ve just been skiing with my wife’s pass up high in my jacket and my pass in my pants pocket. It scans one of em. Also a pretty good indication that they don’t give a fuck about who is using the pass.

^^^^^ based on what I saw today east of the divide you made the right call. The new wind slab was flaking off the old wind slab. Still plenty of whumpfing. Take it easy out there people.

Loveland was straight up busy today. Chet’s maze was actually borderline uncomfortably crowded. I’m probably good until they get another lift open and people can spread out a bit more.

For those who aren't in the know, MontanaSkier made a pact with the devil- he'd trade a winter of snow in CO for Bama to win the NCAA football title. He thought it was for one year.

Turns out the devil tricked him. It was for every year going forward. So long as Bama is top ranked, it doesn't snow in CO.

All of you butthurt rookies stare at NWS maps, Open Snow and other forecasts hoping and praying for a pattern change and some snow. What you forget to realize is that Colorado snowfall is perfectly correlated to Alabama's success on the football field. Nothing more, nothing less. Its all montanaskier's fault.

I find this phenomenon comical and needed to update the chart I made a few years back.

Interesting to see 2014/2015 as an outlier season, must have been some other weird voodoo going on

I drove past that shit show on my way home on Tuesday. I have never seen Wolf Creek like that, ever. People were walking through the snowshed on the East side 1.25 miles to get to the resort. I don't care how much snow fell that could hardly be worth the experience.

Also, Purgatory's main six pack lift at the base has been broken for two (three maybe?) straight days now forcing people to either load a fixed grip double, or a fixed grip triple LOL. Had some Texans in my shop two days ago renting snowshoes that loudly exclaimed, "their whole vacation was ruined because Purgatory couldn't get the main lift open." Sorry your pandemic vacation isn't going to plan, and please pull that mask over your nose thank you very much.
