According to the news this morning, the last time Denver saw measurable snow in September was 20 years ago. Here's hoping it's all rain, and the trees don't get destroyed.
I'm going to put my skis on the car the bike and pull a raft around for the next week
Bluebird Backcountry has a new location this year.
In their words, it's "just up the road" with "more snow".

Just came to post this. Very intriguing...is there something else in the Rabbit Ears area that they could be talking about? Could be really powder choked if it’s right along the Divide there.
Cool that you can go and camp there too.
May be a really fun option during COVID.
They are claiming ~1200 inbounds acres and mentioned “couloirs”. I’m intrigued.
I have low expectations on the terrain (last years sagebrush meadows didn’t push the interest needle ) but who knows , maybe they’ve got something good up their sleeves

“Just up the road” I see Bear Mountain before 40 goes into National Forest. Looks like it has some steep terrain off the summit.
Ute pass or Gore range? That is just down the road![]()
Cameron Peak sure making a run today.
This gif is crazy

A nice approx 10-15 inches for the Front Range, very nice for September
In terms of the seasonal forecast, it doesn’t look too bad for Colorado at all IMO. Something to be positive about at least for that side of the Rockies.
Lot of ash falling at a wedding in Fort Collins today. Kinda cool almost
JFC left the mountains early to come back down to a hot, smoky Denver. Fail.
Just saw ash falling outside my window in Lafayette.

My friend told me the line today to get on the Breck gondola extended like 200’ into the north parking lot after snaking it’s way around and around in the normal queue. What a shitshow. Nice sampling of this winter’s coming shitshow.
No lines to speak of in Aspen or Snowmass. More dogs than I’ve ever seen though.
8-14” of wet snow over the fires should help. 10-20” in the San Juan’s.
Apparently they cancelled Marty Coniglio on 9 news. Hoping for a cute replacement
