I'm not a huge fan of the lift, as that terrain really can't support a ton of traffic, but this opens up the door for the expansion south of Tucker.
Their master plan shows terrain right up to 13K on the east slope of Jacques Peak, stay tuned, as that would be pretty fucking sweet if it happened.

Taco was way deeper than the morning report too
this has been moving forward for twenty years, it's always next year they will install it

I think they have some more zip lines, alpine slides, and on mountain resturants to build before a lift that the average skier will not use

The project would improve access to underutilized advanced terrain within Copper’s existing permit area and is undergoing expedited review as a result of the previous approval. The White River National Forest opened public comment yesterday (running through February 9th) and a decision is expected in March. According the the forest’s schedule of proposed actions, construction could begin as early as this June with an opening next winter.

As a native of Boston, who live in Brooklyn for over a decade, let me just say that people around here drive too fucking slow. You all treat every stop sign like a checkpoint at the Israeli-Palestinian border. And that light turned green, like, 0.3 seconds ago. HURRY UP AND DRIVE!

Damn yeah it was absolutely gorgeous. Not much wind either and everything up high was skiing super smooth.

I’ll hit you up next time to make some turns, we could invite skaredshtles but I think sol vista is more his style

Always reassuring to see a slide gauge out to the ground on the Se face, then wrap around 90 degrees to the NE side. Yesterday, near Irwin.

Yep. Backcountry Skiing...not this year. I've seen and heard about too much unprecedented propagation to get real motivated.

It will be fun this spring, low angle for now, even more than most years, at least around here.

No longer seeing "deep persistent slabs" in the daily report would be a good start.

What’s low angle to you all? Below 30°? 25°?

Probably gonna have to go to the lake and get the kites out. Maybe pocket beers and groomers Saturday afternoon.
