For Boulder/FR - recs on how early in the morning to hit the canyon if driving from Boulder to Eldora to avoid the morning chaos? Wife is due with kid #3 in a few weeks so Eldora is my option for the time being. 7:30 too late? Haven’t been up yet this season but loathe the bumper to bumper from Barker all the way up.

Indeed, that terrain is super fun. How is the coverage right now?

It’s low tide, but decent. Guides will point you to the lines with the fewest rocks. Long hikes yielded the best snow

    The 12” today helped !

Eldora was a lot of fun yesterday, and my first day on snow all season. Parked front row right before 7. Took a dump, drank coffee and had a leisurely morning watching another inch or 2 accumulate before the lifts spun. Ran into Jong Latiffe in the bar! Good to see ya man. I’m sore this morning. Needed a day like that.

I've got a 5 year old too and in my opinion the only way to do it is leave Boulder around 11:30 and ski til close.

The way I figure this is Ullr’s payback for Vail closing KIrkwood last year with 15’ base at the lots in early April. Ullr provides a stellar year, but the money counters close shit down any way. Well, no more fucking snow for you. Whistler is only being given a break from the fury, as they only just became Epic.

Unfortunately, these curses are regional and effect all of an area and not just VR. So we all pay for the sins of a few greedy fuckers.

Does Monarch not do well with the South flow?
I could be talked into a Monarch or WC trip if anyone’s going.

Whaaaaa? Seems like the collateral damage is too high to support your theory.

Whatever flow Monarch got last night, that's what they need.
Chilly morning and the snow quality was excellent. We got to center punch 14" new right down Mirkwood - sweet!

I have been skiing wolf creek. coverage is fine. A little scratchy in some of the bumps. If these predicted totals happen should be great. some issue with downfall in the thicker trees. nothing 20 inches will not solve. Skied BC today and it was excellent. Will be at the hill next two days.
about the monarch thing. How do they get dumped on and crested butte gets nothing?

Doing Monarch 23-25 of this month. Last I checked their report they were 100% open and all lifts. One of the more rare ones so far this season.

Yeah but I mean tomorrow. NOAA calling for heavy snow from tomorrow morning for 24 hours at WC, only moderate at monarch. But didn’t know Monarch got 14 yesterday. Tempting. They still doing the shell 2 for 1?

$54 for a lift ticket when you show your seasons pass from another hill.
I think south flow sucks for everyone except Wolf Creek and Purg
