It was 40 degrees when I came back "under" Loveland on Monday afternoon.... so yeah, that packed powder might be toast by now.

Sure things might change moderately on south facing aspects. But it's not been warm enough with high enough humidity to significantly metamorphose the crystalline structure on north facing slopes.

So many whiners here think they're gods gift to snowsports and believe packed powder is hardpack. East coast guys. Chime in. Or go take a hot lap down Birds of Prey or the Ajax DH course. That's hard pack. But absolutely carvable. You clown shoe skiers may want to swap out gear and change up the skill blend.

I skied all LL lifts at the basin and saw maybe 10 people Saturday and Sunday who were actually ripping and carving turns. NTTAWWT.

Though a dump or 10 would be great.

I’ve really tried to stay positive, but after this storm is missing us again, I’m def loosing motivation. I’ve only got about 20 days this year and am leaning towards riding my bike today instead of going to the hill. It is super grey out and feels like spring. I’m going to go ahead and say it. Ullr has turned into a total pussy

I’ve been bummed about the conditions but I have definitely made the most out of this season. Shit, I’ve skied more pow inbounds this season than I did last season, but I’ve gotten pretty lucky with the days I’ve skied this season and the rope drops I’ve caught. Conditions are definitely thin but it’s all about making the best of things. I haven’t had any real days in the backcountry though which is kinda a bummer.
