It wasn't that bad once you got going. Had some work being done on the house and the day off. Nothing better to do but go freeze my ass off and ski powder alone. I was just happy the lift kept running.

Was up at the basin today too. Skiing was ok in most places and really good in a few. The leeward side of the spine was classic. Really limited by visibility more than anything. That, and the ride up Pali at about 300pm was one for the ages. No idea what the crosswind was clocked at, but it might have been the windiest lift ride I've ever taken. The sun had just tried to come out and it was so calm in the base area that we got coaxed into one more lap. We were properly dressed so no big deal, but man did it rip. Really good laps in the race shack trees, between radical and 13, north/timber... Only made the one lap west of the Pali, but I'm sure all the east facing stuff skied awesome... But everytime we got to the top, we were sure they'd close the lift, but the skiing was so sneaky good... Couldn't quite call it. Shitty weather, but good snow.

Damn. I had kinda thought I'd go try to find some leftovers from yesterday afternoon but I find myself in a position where I just cannot justify skipping work to fight this wind forecast. Hope it ends up dying down sooner than predicted and ya'll find some good stashes!!

I downloaded Windyty the other night and it's a cool app. Pretty detailed wind obs, forecasts, and histograms. Available on the playstore.

I'm not hearing about any dirt in the San Juans either. But I haven't been in the high country since Saturday so I may be wrong.

Two JeffCo wildfires: one by Table Mtn/Golden.
    And another by Cold Springs.

If the Front Range doesn't get some good snow this spring, this could be real bad down here.

Nothing quite like driving home from work and seeing smoke that does not move away as you get closer. Thankfully, it looks like the wind has settled down a bit tonight. Not real thrilled about being east of the flames on S. Table with our recent winds. Thankfully, I think we are far enough away. Definitely dry as a popcorn fart. Need some moisture badly.

Not a natural fire that is for sure. Dickhead with cigarette butt I'm guessing

7 dead and over a million acres burned this week in TX, OK, and KS. High plains need a blizzard big time.

^ Wildfire in Montane Park ID'd around 215. Sounds like every volly firefighter within 50 miles showed up. Apparently, beer-o'clock on Friday afternoon is a good time to have a fire break out... Who knew?

I think I'll pull my snow tires today.

Always good for one more big storm when I do. Might pull mine early next week.

Today was gorgeous, but the heavy winds and warm temps are taking their toll. Lots of brown in Copper bowl.

CPC says pattern change in two weeks maybe...we'll see. I'd love to regret putting my summer tires on early.

Models are showing temps in the mid to upper 80s in Denver and mid to upper 60s in the mountains next weekend. Riding in Eagle should be good and maybe even some golf. That's probably overdone a bit but it'll hit 80 in the city and easily in the 60s up here.

EC Alert sending out flood and wildfire info over the next week. It paints and interesting picture when they word it like that.

Snow tires off yesterday, road ride today with an unpleasantly cold weather shift. I think that's all we're getting out of that effort. Maybe I'll wash my car again this week.
