Now is as dangerous as it is in April/May when its dangerous but not as dangerous in some places because this year is this year and its been more dangerous and less dangerous and when people are saying to each other that shits pretty bomber and I did X then we know that we can assess that there is a solid pack in some spots that didn't for them avalanche and that it can either be dangerous or not, depending on conditions there.
IOW, it depends.

I think it was supposed to be confusing
All it boils down to is that Big Eyes slid when someone tried to ski it. Talking about how things may or not be safe for mid winter doesn't matter when you're going for a ride.
So net/net is I KNOW ABOUT SNOWPACK/STABILITY
Abasin was dope today!!! Knee deep snow all over! Pretty heavy, which was actually a good thing - didn't hit any crust underneath.
DUMPED all day and was still dumping when I left 10 minutes ago.
The whole mountain is skiing soft and creamy. Plenty of fresh still around when I left.
Tomorrow morning should be good.
Lol what
Knee deep lol. Maybe if you Telemark.
If you are 3 ft tall
Did you guys ski a Basin today ? Somehow I bet you didn't
Nice, set the timer to 24 hours and watch the wind blowing the snow off the platform.

I've had a lot of good days over the past 20 years in cb. Today was one of the best. Maybe the best. A foot of graupel skis in every way you could want it to. Could have skied the steepest, gnarliest lines with a blindfold and they still would have seemed easy.
I had a "boot deep" day too. Maybe one run in the alley's was deeper, got some pow in the face in 'Zuma. Whatever. Surfy snow was great - covered up the old stuff really nicely in most places. Sun finally broke through around 2:30 and made for some killer 'Zuma laps. East Wall preserved for tomorrow - should be sweet.
Breck was pretty amazing too, though 100+mph gusts killed tbar and delayed its opening till after noon. That said, awesome snow. For alpine terrain, I'll take high speed cream over knee deep any day. Lake Chutes and 6.5 are a go for tomorrow.
Snow was wet and heavy at 10k+ today.
