Yeah, best to avoid Steamboat during spring break, especially this next week.

Most schools in IL start back up 4/4.

Aspen's been skiing well without lines. Snowmass was a little congested last Saturday, but I think I'm just spoiled.

Breck was still holding nice, cold snow up in the alpine on favorable aspects, yesterday. Lift lines were non-existent by Breck standards, which made for some great afternoon turns. Looking forward to next week....

All about aspect this time of year. Pali has been high-speed chalk surfing madness lately. Super fun. Pretty nice to be able to step into bigger terrain too.

Second this. Been pretty much riding onto lifts all week. Slush party down low too

As someone who works at Purg occasionally, you're right. Still almost all Texans during these spring break weeks.

Red Mountain was quiet today. Real good skiing on northern aspects.
A real week of snow would be nice though.

Anyone else see the irony in Benny, of all people, telling us to stop bitching?

Edit to add: Dumped fat flakes for the last hour and a half here at the base of bachelors gulch, and now nothing.

Mt biking was pretty sweet today, my first weekend off in a long time.

Hey all, not to crap the weather thread right as some is finally coming in, but I've got a quick question. I have a late flight out tonight from Denver , and am trying to decide between A Basin, Loveland , or maybe Winter Park, accounting for both visibility if the storm comes in as expected and travel conditions back to Denver around 3 or 4. I'm currently near Breck. Thanks !

Goes without saying that if Berthoud closes for some reason you won't get back from WP. It would have to snow for this to happen, which I realize is highly unlikely. Loveland is flat and short. Go to Abasin.

Berthoud is HIGHLY unlikely to close. And WP does have the huge advantage of being nowhere near the tunnel. Still, if you're near Breck it does seem silly to drive that far.

Same could be said for Loveland Pass. I was at Abasin last May, Blue bird and warm. Wet slide crossed the road and closed the pass for hours.
The tunnel was fucked because they were stopping traffic to let hazmat's thru.

That's a good point...if you're unlucky any of those passes can close (including east bound I70 from Silverthorne). Loveland is the safest option if you have to drive to DIA.

The forecasts I can access are not promising for the San Juans/SWCO in the next week. Are there any other predictions?

It looks like the northern part of the state will get the biggest chunk of snow the next two weeks. The jet stream isn't in a good position for southern storms.

Tee-shirt and sandals weather down here right now and been that way for the better part of the last 6 weeks. Skiing is still good on the right aspects but Purg/Telluride/Silverton could use some love. I really wish this storm had decided to make it a little further south...
