Where outside of BH? I saw one RAW chart that showed a peak gust of 22 in Dory Hills. The weather around here is insane. We had a storm hit in 2013 (?) where it snowed 10" here and 50" in Central City.

Probably longer than 2013, if that's the spring one that wiped out a bunch of power lines with wet snow?

It's worth mentioning that really high wind occurs for about 10 days, two or three times a year. Sometimes November, usually December, always February.. It happens on the regular, but it's hardly an all the time thing.

We bought the place for the property, with limited understanding of the issues posed by the location of the existing house. The view is/was certainly the determining factor. We have ~290 degree views, overlooking two valleys. The house was not new when we bought it and didn't show any unusual damage given its location. It still doesn't. The sheathing/siding project we did in '14 has made the place feel incredibly sound, and when we continue the interior remodel this summer, I'll replace the drywall on shear and load bearing walls with OSB... I expect that'll be the end of the discussion. But wind be damned, I can sit out on my deck and not see another house for over two miles. And on the hottest day of the year, it might get up to 80 degrees. That's my sort of thing... You can ask any member of the forum and I bet they'd agree I seem like a dude who needs a little extra personal space.

Got it. Yeah, not much you can do there besides what you pointed out. The view in that one pic you posted looks pretty solid.

I was just looking at the snowfall totals of some of my old New England stomping grounds. Holy shit what a bad winter. 44" so far at Kmart. 60" at Wildcat. MRG is barely open. Imagine the butthurt if that kind of low happened here.

^ I wouldn't be nearly as butthurt about the skiing as I would be about the drinking, showering, etc., all of which I'm a huge fan of.... Dry winter drought is fucking frightening...

up near 46 and 119 area, north of BH. From the sounds of it your prob a bit higher and more space around. Gets really windy up there but his house below the peak so some great views but limited on the degrees

A basin was deep on Monday in the right aspects.

A 4 inch report at A basin often skies deeper than an 8 inch report at Breck. Funny how that is.


All of the crust was covered and things were skiing soft.



I'm sure the near 80 degree temps in Denver today ruined that.

My mom and dad are somewhere in remote eastern Colorado on the way to Taos and they just called me to tell me it was 86 degrees on the Sienna thermometer and mad windy. Can't wait to ski refrozen cement next week No really. It will still be fun.
