Nice, I'll have to make it over there.

Went to Abasin today and it was very nice. Sidecountry was Deeeeep, and no crowds whatsoever. Gotta love weekday pow days, especially this time of year before the craziness starts.

Ditto for the Beav. Though I am still finding a couple sneaky stones in a couple spots.

Money money money today at the Boat. 12+ Reported but most everywhere seemed like more, knee to thigh off ridge, trees. Snowed hard this afternoon too. Nice supportive base but light on top. The mountain was empty. Absolutely perfect day. I'm toast. Brain happy. Chutes open mañana.

Pretty damn good. Even saw a little sun and blue sky. Morning pass laps delivered untracked till about 2. Then went for a little tour. Was deep and dense out there. Seemed to be bonding well, but hard to say given the traffic that these areas see. Should be a damn good weekend too. Anyone else conteplating the Silverton opener?

The south half of Horseshoe (Rustler and south) has been open to hiking on some days. Now that 6 Chair opened yesterday, I would think it's just a matter of avalanche mitigation. Not sure about the northern half from Outlaw over thru Humbug.

WP was awesome today. Got lucky with two laps through Hole in the wall during an hour of directed skiing. Snow was soft everywhere else. It was cold.

On another note, anybody need a touring partner for tomorrow? RMNP, IPW, Berthoud...wherever. Got gear, AIARE level 1, on a split etc. PM me.

Somehow it is possible to cancel the hotel all the way up to 24 hours in advance, so I'm considering going elsewhere.
Storms have been going north or south, at least for the ski area. Backcountry is getting as much or more than elsewhere. Next week could be good, but CB's terrain won't likely be open even if we get dumped on. then again, the lift lines will likely be half of say summit county. Tough call.

I'm in CB the 24-27. I'm hoping for lots of new snow and short lines from people not heading that way due to them getting systematically skunked so far this season. At least if it's not great my days are free on the RMSP+ pass.

Is anyone else going to be in Breck over Christmas\New Years week? I'll be there from the 29-2, hoping for lots of snow and short lift lines.
