Use the paved path that leads to the wedding deck. Stay right once you pass the construction fencing. You can walk through the grass, about 50 feet, and onto the service road. That service road eventually intersects RF. Or, once you get on the service road, there is a rudimentary walking trail that leads through the trees and onto RF(you can actually see RF trail down in the trees from the service road).

I've spoken to Vail Mtn Ops several times about RF and access, and they said this is completely fine.

There is a hurricane charging through the Tech Center right now. Sideways sheets of water.

^^^ Sunny and blue skies up here north of Boulder. That's what you get for being in the DTC.

2 inches of rain fell in parts of the DTC in less than 40 minutes.

The little creek that runs by my office (the lee gulch) turned into a river with whitewater Rapids. Looked like it would have been so much fun to raft or kayak

When is this haze going to leave? Sucks to climb a mountain and have no views. Is there a change in the wind direction coming?

Early leaf drop where I live, most of them more brown than yellow. They've been falling for two weeks already. Fall will be great, but I don't think it can top last years' colors in Colorado- those were the best I've seen since '96 or so.

Does anybody have a link to a detailed map that shows average peak fall foliage dates in Colorado?

    There's always a thread on 14ers.com and here: http://www.naturephotographers.net/i...bbs.cgi?a=vf10

In terms of "average peak", I think the last week of September into the first few days of October is pretty normal for all the mountain areas. The Front Range mountains are always a little later since they're at lower elevation.

This. We were in Telluride first week in October and it was unbelievably spectacular. A dusting up high made it a perfect fall scene.

Not much happening by Meadow Creek Res in terms of foliage, but the nights were cool and got a bull to come in bugling. Just need these daytime temps to come down.

Sunday and Monday's rains pelted a lot of leaves off the aspens here at Stagecoach Res, it rained so hard; we've been getting hammered with mini storms on and off all week. All summer really. Chill in the morning air but daytime temps are still creeping up around 65-70, drops down to maaaaybe 38 or so at night thus far. It's still warmer in town for sure and everything there is still green for the most part.

One or two hummingbirds are still feeding around my porch but all the others have left.

Lots of yellow already on the upper Yampa/Flattops.

I know, all this sun in CO is a drag. Been getting a lot of time hiking in the alpine without apocalyptic storms.
