Does anyone who skied wolf creek or monarch today think it's still worth making the trip down for tomorrow?

how could wolf creek NOT be worth it? That much snow and that small amount of people... Heck, the backcountry on the pass will be sweet for days.

Fremont 4 at Copper was real fun this morning, 12" of medium density fluff all the way down.
You could see that the Collegiates have this storm stopped dead in its tracks!

"Wolf Creek, too bad there's not a mountain under all that snow" That's what we used to say. But yeah, I could have fun there on a 30" day. Especially since this a relatively low-tide year for them. Might actually make it more fun. The BC around there is a different story. I'd be very wary of conditions, but could be very good out there.

I was mostly referring to in bounds, I don't really think I'm comfortable with the backcountry around there right now.

It was knee deep and snowed hard all day at Purg. Still snowing tonight in Durango and should snow tonight and tomorrow. Wonderful storm. Yeah, Wolf should be OK tomorrow...

Wait, you'd leave 26", more incoming, at Telluride for Wolf or Monarch?

Telluride was insane today. Some of my deepest turns ever. Had to keep stopping so I could see where I was going. Skied bell to bell. Gold hill spun finally around 2. It was sickness.

Gratzo had a few pictures from yesterday at Wolf Creek in last night's report, AND he mentioned that Alberta and Knife Ridge never opened yesterday. I wish I was able to make it down today, should still be "worth it".

He'll stop for pictures so he can make everyone on FB jealous, but he didn't bring the photographer this time.

    Hello all....

We have scrapped our yearly plans where we head to a buddy's ranch in ID and backcountry ski/sled due to conditions. That said, we have been trying to throw together a last-minute trip to catch the best conditions this upcoming weekend. We are all out-of-towners now and will be flying in. Current plan is to fly into Albuquerque Thursday evening, drive to Telluride. Ski at tride Friday/Saturday, then head to Silverton on Saturday afternoon. Ski Silverton Sunday, and then Monday hit either DMR or Wolf Creek....???

We are on the wait-list for Sunday at Silverton. The forecast looks decent for the weekend and I'm updating opensnow.com every 20 minutes in hopes that the positive forecast trend continues.

I would appreciate anyone's feedback/input on our plan. We are trying to maximize pow, and as I'm sure you can tell, are desperate....

Looks like a good plan to me. For Monday I'd trend to Wolf Creek over DMR as purgatory's terrain is rather limited and wolfie will be deeeep after this upcoming cycle.

I bet he slutted himself anyway, 'cause he's a whore. The pics just won't be as good.

Have you ever flown into CO and not brought snow? I feel like every time I read about you coming out here we are in the middle of a good cycle.
