There are flowers blooming and leaves sprouting on some of the bushes near my apartment. Granted this is in a super protected south facing courtyard but wtf

^^^ Yep, I've noticed on my drive home that several of the farms in north Boulder are starting to show green.

Looks like next week might put an end to that for a little while.

You can set your watch to those valley floor high temp alerts!
There's a glimmer of hope 5+ days out, the ridge moves west and good ol' fashioned NW flow coming in behind it.

Latest GFS run is showing less snow for the mountains with the Monday storm, though the Sangres could get hammered.

500mb wind and %RH charts sure are interesting though...

The worst conditions possible. No snow of note since December. Temps have reached record highs repeatedly. I would cancel, go to the Great White North.

Very strange seeing a NNW storm track favor the Sangres, that's for sure.

    Idk about "worst possible conditions"

There's snow to ski out there but May like conditions are the norm. I haven't been out in a week and a half though, so that may have changed quite a bit.

It was the worst conditions possible a few years ago when the entire snowpack was facets. This season it is mostly consolidated. I'm still having great turns but the snowpack is pretty damn thin

They haven't really got anything much right this season for more than 12 hours or less out, so we'll see.

Time to head to Taos, maybe?

Breck is skiing well. I don't know why everyone hates on it there. I think Lake Chutes and Six Senses are awesome terrain.

The really good terrain is pretty short - only about 500' - and you do have to hike for it. Peak 6 has a long fucking boring run back to the lift, too. Peak 7 is pretty good too and quite a bit longer, but its also a pain to lap. T-Bar serves good terrain, but once again, really short. The layout of the mountain isn't that great. Yes, the terrain is good once you're on it, but pair up the layout with usually long lines, and its reputation for sucking makes sense. That said, given the current conditions, I'd rather ski there than the other resorts along I70, right now, BY FAR - when the lines are manageable.

Dumping in Summit I'm hearing...did this storm end up more west than previously forecasted? Thought this was an east of the divide event?

It was dumping on and off all day on Freemont pass. Frisco was doing OK too, but dry as a bone back on the east side of the county. Go figure, hope I wake up to a few.

SnowShow killing it with the questions lately!
Nice morning on BP w/ Below Zero. All about the aspects. N facing is nice bouncy recycled pow, any other direction was creme brulee.
