4" at Breck and 2" at the Beav is more than predicted. It'll help...

Wind blown recycled pow day?
Breck was really good yesterday. Fast soft chalky snow. Lake Chutes had a good 6", if anyone finds a Level 9 Sports ski pole in Zero Chute, its mine. Should be a ways below the one good cliff out there (landed, but stuffed a tip in a turn).
Man, crazy sunshine and super warm. Great day skiing with lil man. I could certainly use some cold weather and snow for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, great skiing with my 3 year old girl. Shredded Molly Hogan Bowl with her.
I'm thinking of postponing todays Maui-Denver flight till next week, any thoughts on the pattern shift? Can't do another hard snow, sweaty temps session.
MUST HAVE SOFT SNOW
Hit BP yesterday, pretty good refresher storm. 2 runs down Powderline did the trick.
I'm glad that whole Bama losing thing worked out for everybody. The snowfall since they lost has been ridiculous.

Good snow still about 2 weeks out for Colorado. Plan accordingly. Some decent wind buff is found on high elev. north / ne facing slopes but most resorts are hurting bad, not in coverage (above 10.5k) but in surface quality. They have not recovered from the entire xmas holiday crowds. If you love moguls (even in the trees) and just groomed slopes then conditions now are still decent. But if you like soft snow fugetaboutit. The hurt is on in that regard. (in the resorts)
The problem is due to the long drought when the snows finally come they are gonna get crushed in no time due to the hordes of snow starved skiers just waiting to pounce on it. With more consistent snowfall one can sneak in many good soft days at the resorts with much less skier pressure.
^^^ Uhh, Breck has been skiing really really well. Soft chalk and recycled powder. Love skiing the resort when it's like this. The trick is to ski the alpine resorts.
Was at WP yesterday and I found it pretty good. I mean, I've seen much worse conditions. If you made it through 11/12, nothings that bad.
Firm bumps, average coverage and some pockets of leftovers. But if you enjoy the butthurt, by all means have at it.
Severe butthurt will set in as long term into Feb looks like more of the same. Ridge over the west coast just isn't going away. Break out the bikes. Bring on spring! Having the Mrs. out of commission actually makes spring sound pretty nice. It'll snow again, but long dry warm spells in the middle of winter, despite it being fairly normal, always stink.
Cue..."you can't trust long term forecast" folks in 3...2...1
