Driving from Beaver Creek to Boulder this afternoon and when we got to Copper the electronic sign said something along the lines of "bumper to bumper stop and go traffic Eisenhower to Denver" and then showed Copper to C470 was going to take more than 2:45.

Ended up driving over Hoosier Pass and driving 285 back. No traffic that way, and if the sign was correct we saved an hour.

Sounds about right. Took nearly 1:40 from Loveland to Denver. Left at 3:10pm.

breck ski'd well today. didn't make it over to vail since it didn't dump enough overnight.

lake chutes/the bowl next to it didn't open at all today. looked super good, patrol said it'd open tomorrow. although, whale's tail ski'd awesome along with all over peak 7 bowl.

really don't know why I planned a dermatologist appt in denver tomorrow morning. just took 3 hours from frisco to c470.

Snowed all day at Wolf Creek again. Not as heavy yesterday, but tomorrow should be great as well.

    I'm thinking WC tomorrow.
4 hrs one way, but it sounds like it will be deep.

GFS says we are setting up for a nice flow of weather from the NW. So what's actually going to happen?

    1) Splits to the N and S of CO
    2) Dives to the S of CO
    3) Climbs to the N of CO
    4) Peters out altogether between UT and CO

Sick sick day at Wolf Creek. Well worth the trip. Still puking when we left the parking lot at 4:40 this afternoon so tomorrow should be awesome as well if that keeps up.

The 'Boat was really rocking today. Another classic Steamboat orographic machine that makes you forget all about the SummCO donut hole.

Got 3rd chair up Storm Peak. 1st time in my life that I smoked 2200' of inbounds vert that was absolutely untouched. Not even a ski patrol track in my way. Man that felt great.

Here's a quick edit from the day. Good old fashioned point and go powder footage:

Nice vid Cold Smokin'! I can confirm the deepness at the 'boat. Both saturday pm and sunday morning were off the hook. I was thinking the Sun AM report was mostly what fell on Saturday, but no, the untracked stuff was shin/knee deep.

Glad you enjoyed it as well. Saturday PM was pretty damn soft as well.
I was nervous too since there was only a dusting in town, but when I heard the 5am report of 15" up top, I knew it was going to be a good day.

Shit!, I 180'd into a ditch on my way to Silverton last weekend as well. Just a flat tire for me though. Be careful out there.

New tires acquired and I'm on my way to Wolf Creek lot tonight (silver Tacoma with a topper.)
Should be riding Wolf all day tomorrow, Christmas tree colors (red jacket, green pants, white helmet, line 130's) See ya peeps there!

Taos skied amazing yesterday, it's the same drive time from Denver, and the terrain is a million times better. Something to keep in mind when storms stay south...

(And yes, I know it isn't in CO, but close enough...)

About 30 minutes farther than Wolf, but for sure that is a good idea...

Yeah, I just went off google maps, which said 4hr34min for WC and 4hr37 for Taos. I have no personal experience with it.

Oh look another fizzling storm, how surprising and unexpected. Don't worry though, I'm sure the pattern will change in a couple weeks.

Spent the past 3 days up on Cameron Pass. DEEP up there, at least 18" from this last round of storms. That snowpack is super sketchy right now though. Hopefully this storm track will pan out and deliver us some goods in RMNP. Still cant get over how boney it is for this time of year.
