And your solution is to move to the East Coast? That's genius...

Historically, CO is old reliable in the snowfall department. The worm always turns.

For what it's worth, I had a sweet day at Mary Jane today. Tons of "new" snow in the trees - I think the wind blew the snow down that had been hanging out high in the trees, so it was like there was new snow. Got great turns on Parsenn's bowl trees and over by the Eagle Wind lift (which is closed, but you can ski next to the closure line and get soft fluffy turns). Surprisingly good all around. The base is decent, all they need is a couple of storms to freshen it up.

I'm not sure "old reliable" would be a phrase I would use with Colorado skiing.

My solution is to move back east, make some money$$$, then move back to jackson/targhee/SLC in october...rather than continue to "ski" it out here and degenerate my meniscus from terrible snow conditions. ruin my skis, Ruin my ass on the ice...easily 10k down the drain for a shit season in this shit state. im gettin the F outta here. Butthurt is now in full effect..

If you came to CO for only the skiing, you're a dumbass. You should be in Jackson or Utah. CO wins in the year-round sunny day outdoors lifestyle combined with a great economy (for high paying jobs). SLC's pretty close behind, but the overall playground is much smaller, more crowded and you have to put up with the great brown cloud.

That said, been skiing knee powder every day I've been out since it stopped snowing hard (including today, sending it the biggest all season), so you can certainly make the skiing side work, just need to put more effort in during times like this.

Was pleasantly surprised by back bowl and bsb conditions today..was expecting way worse based on all the bitching. Plenty of soft turns back there.

Yeah I don't see why everyone's complaining here. I'm getting faceshots and sick hucks every day. Been keeping it under 40..waiting for a few more inches in EV before I go for the big boys though.

    Is that from the mormons?

Glad to hear it's still soft the the stashes in bsb ect, though I am sure you have to hike and pole a bit. An early poster said it was 40 back there? How can? the forecasts have shown frikkin artic lows, except of course at the maze to 17 which is like Maui half the winter.

It will snow and soon. Like ten days. Promise.

If not I got a good recipe for a dry rub to try at Henrys or Bells. Bring beer...

I don't believe anybody is finding"faceshots" anywhere around Vail proper. There is some soft around but it's rotten and faceted. Patrol told me today that the top (11,4,5) was 22% behind last year. It's thin for sure and its gonna stay thin. However it is still skiing and I had fun this morning.

Skiing is much more fun than so many other things. There is enough snow for a good amount of terrain to be open. I have two little ones and the whole family is sick. I'll be glad to share my germs with all the Debbie downers. You can tell me how bad the snow is while you feel like shit.

^ true that. We rode sleds in the rock creek area near allenspark and surprisingly enough there was some soft snow to be found way back up there.

In looking at the latest GFS run, this thread needs to be retitled "Abandon all hope ye who enter here."

Woke up this morning to blue skies and 70 degree temps in boulder. Took my bike out for a ride along some sunny dry trails in town. Got a breakfast burrito, went home, and grabbed my skis. Made the 30 minute drive up the boulder canyon and spent the afternoon in the sun at eldora. Natural coverage is thin, but the mountain has made snow on almost every single run.

Fucking awesome day really cant complain. Be jealous

I got half of your day in yesterday - the mountain biking half. The other half does make me jealous.

Come on snow! Stupid persistent high pressure in the Pacific.
