How was Breck alpine terrain today? (Lake Chutes, Snow White, Whale's Tail, Upper 7, etc.) Wind beat? Or wind filled?

Any Aspen peeps ski the bowl today? Heard they got it open around noon, wondering how it's looking after the wind event

Breck skied very, very well today. Peak 7 and Lake Chutes were outstanding. The snow was sticking well to most areas and very little had sloughed off. I can't remember the last time I skied non-stop from 8:30 to 3:00. It was a little windy up high, but that just kept the gapers away.

guess it is wicked windy up high today. Vail has shut down a ton of lifts for the day due to wind.

^^ yes, yes it is. Had to hold on to my skis at transitions so they wouldn't end up in Kansas.

Absurdly windy along any ridge above treeline. Friggin' nuts.

Winds were topping 80 mph at vail today. All of the back and blue sky shut down around 1:30 with the exception of chair 5, which was only closed for a half hour or so. 21 couldn't keep running with the wind so everyone had to go up 36. It took 3 hours to clear everyone out. I heard the line was well over the bridge. With the lift stopping and never going faster than medium, that would have been a shitty ride up.

Yeah the wind is crazy up top. Saw a pretty large natural on a NE aspect at treeline. Was a little far away but looked like a huge crown depth wise.

    Wife up there today.
Said she dropped to ground a couple of times to stop being blown off the ridge.
    Down right unpleasant at peak.
    Skiing reportedly very good though

Upper lifts at snowmass closed most of day due to wind.

Expect backcountry to be very dodgy for awhile (even more so than recently) due to massive snow transport all day today

I wouldn't think about doing backcountry unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing.

Yeah I got up there today and had the same experience with ridiculously high winds on the ridge and really good skiing on the way down once I got down past all the wind affected stuff.

Beyond Petes stash? Yeah, looked big. It had slid prior to Friday.

We got turned away from our second lap out to EV at the top of 21. They wouldnt even let us sneak around and up the backside of the wall. At least we got out of there before it turned into the 3 hr shitshow.

Anyone want to venture some ideas for T-Ride come Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.... heading down there to pop my san juan cherry.... what say ye.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

I think it would be a better bet to book a day at Silverton on Thursday...at least that is starting to become a plan for me .

Yeah exactly. I never knew it had a name so I made my own up for the past few years.

Have you skied in that area?

Gotta say I'm surprised they turned you around at the TOP of 21. Even when everything to skiiers left of 21 has been roped off, and in multiple patrollers presence they've let me go. That sounds pretty lame.
