Well, we just drove through there 5 minutes ago and cotrip is saying it's open.

EB is closed from twin tunnels though. Sometimes it's nice to be the passenger.

10" here. Somehow we are squeezing out good moisture from this upslope event. Should be a good bonus weekend at Highlands.

no snow at all on the valley floor in Eagle County and really warm actually. Sun has actually been out. Clouding up again now and expect some wraparound moisture to get the snow going late this afternoon and tonight. Not sure how A$pen is squeezing that kind of mositure out.

    Winter Park

just got in from skiing all AM, it was balls-deep at 9am and is actually snowing harder now than it was. 20" is a conservative estimate with no sign of letting up.
snow was warm and wet when it started but definitely got colder overnight thursday and turned into a fucking fantastic dumper, completely buried the layer of shit underneath. Best it's been since Jan.
Wouldn't surprise me if BP is closed tomorrow!

    where was this?
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Looks like from 2pm today thru 6pm tomorrow, the Front Range will see another two feet in addition to the two feet we've already received.

Just got back.... I-70 from Dumont to Idaho Springs was actually pretty clear, but I can't comment on Floyd Hill or Evergreen since I took the canyon. Took me 2 hrs to get home, usually takes 1.10 without traffic.

It was dumping all day long at LL today- must have been an easy 8-10 additional from the time I got there at 7:15 until I left at 1:30. Tomorrow I'm guessing they report 20" or more.

Oh, and the Metro area? Joke. We have zero inches of snow in Erie (although we have a lake in our backyard).

Eagle County may still get in the mix but I kind of doubt it at this point. Not much at all today, kinda weird to be the ones left out this time.

    Berthoud Pass

It has been reported to WP resort employees that BP will likely close this evening between 7-9pm until tomorrow morning sometime at the earliest.

I70 both EB and WB directions is closed from mm180-mm259 due to adverse conditions.
That's a lot of fucking interstate down.

I just heard I-70 is closed East bound from Vail to G'town.

Oh, and just as I typed my last entry- it started snowing up here. Maybe we'll get some snow here after all.

Ok, so what's the real scoop? I'm getting a lot of seeming misinformation, and conflicting data especially on CDOT. What is closed on I-70 (just Floyd?), and can I bypass it by taking the canyon? Thank you.

I get my road conditions texted to me directly from dispatch. Personally, I think you should go for it.

^^^ Based on the fact that Conifer got 27+ inches so far, that would seem like a really ambitious way to get up there.

Just leave Denver around 7:00 tomorrow morning like everyone else.

You can take the frontage road or canyon to 70, get off at the Idaho tunnel on the frontage road, take frontage roads to Georgetown and hopefully get on 70 at Georgetown. It has worked in the past. You can even use frontage roads from Silver Plume to Bakersville.

But it wasn't wet at LL today- it was actually fairly light.
