fireweather has close to 4 inches of water equiv. for Berthoud and 40+ inches of snow. That should make things interesting to say the least.

Edit to add: 5.5 inches of water equiv for the metro area, but only 8 inches of snow. Long's Peak has close to 7 inches of water equiv.

If its heavy/wet enough or consolidates quickly then next week may be prime for Notch or North Face.

If it holds, then the season is getting a big boost to last longer for sure.
You should have been here yesterday!

    lol

I've already had a fun day skinning in 3-4' of fresh this year. Definitely don't want another, let alone one where the water content will be much closer to 8% than to 2%. Any takers on Berthoud Pass sidecountry?

I'm aiming to get out at least 2 of the next 3 days, if not all 3...thinking 1 area, 1 bc day in there. Let's see where the snow falls and make some turns, NPG!

Sounds good. I'm in for Sat/Sun wherever the most snow is. Leaning more towards resorts for safety reasons and not wanting all the new snow sluffing away after the first turn.

Still don't want to skin in deep shit tho.

Dust on crust today at Vail... small flakes, accumulation was too fluffy to cover any crust, not sticky, but kinda slow snow...

no firsthand from my cube tho...til tomorrow when work gets a huge

This is one of the slowest moving storms I have seen. The storm warning originally went until 6 PM Thurs, then 6 AM Friday, the 6PM Fri, now 9AM Sat.

Could this possibly turn into a nice upslope for the Berthoud area? Looks like its beginning to head east slowly with temps ripe for a slathering. Anyone seeing anything more than casual puking?

A Basin ski'd like about 9" for much of the morning (as long as you stayed off the boiler plate below,) with a brief hour of sunshine that manked everything. Looking toward the Gore it was dark and begining to bring some nice dip n' dot snow in again around 3. With some promise for more.
