    Exactly:

This year, we're currently still over 100% of average for statewide snowpack. Obviously, that can change pretty quickly, but so far this year is nowhere near as dismal as '01/'02.

I realize I'm emphasizing precipitation and not temperatures so much.

I was in Denver today and the car said 77. HOly shit was it warm. Last really stupid warm day up here for awhile and we could use the cold and snow. Saw dirt on a couple parts of the frontside on my way home.

Rontele- Next week still look like a possible big storm? Saturday looks ok, not great support but should be better than the last few we've had.

In Breck with all the hair, how will everyone stay cool

I was at Beav today for excercise. There's some shit sticking out, but up high there's still a nice deep base. In fact near Spruce Saddle Beav was rock hard from wind late in the afternoon. Bottom half of the mountain (in the trees) is in not so good shape. Blue Square Basin here I come!

Most notable today was the wind gusts up top! WOW! felt like a jet stream was running over Beav, nice and calm at the base, but at Spruce Saddle the trees were twisting in the wind.

From CAIC: "Mountain snowfall intensities increase Friday night into Saturday in association with the low pressure trough that is expected to cross the state on Saturday. Snowfall ends Saturday evening with up to 10" expected in the Steamboat zone, the Central Mountains, and the far Southern San Juans"

Hmmmm, where to go this weekend?

I have hundreds of miles of driving to do for work in the next couple weeks, so I am thinking of taking one for the team and switching my snow tires off for the all seasons. If I do, we should have a hasty return to sub zero temps and moisture.

my leg goes in a cast tommorow to immobilize a broken fibula. It will hammer all four weeks.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

so that bruise you had was a broken bone eh? Bones are easier than ligaments.... you'll be fine.

For waht it is worth, the CAIC isn't as excited as the NWS.

Damn that sucks, I thought I had done the same to both my legs on Monday. Straight line LL ridge to hitting something under the snow just before the groomer at the top of 2 and went down hard, managed to ski away somehow and got down the groomer, then felt the pain. Luckily just nasty bruises.

    Heal up.

watch dropped for the Central zones for now.....3-6" is my guess for Saturday accumulation. Next week I don't see the really cold air that I saw earlier...more seasonal, low 40s.
