This pineapple express warm weather sucks, starting to look like it will stay next week also?? If I though there was anything I could do to bring back the cold northwesterly stuff I would...

Eh, I got my new wheels for my mountain bike, so I had an equal amount of fun that I would have had in the mountains.

it'll snow again and it'll get cold again, but another reminder that this is NOT last year. Spring is in da house. More wet slathery snow for the big peaks....big mountain skiing isn't far off now.

Finally a seasonably cold day here at 10,000'. Only in the mid-twenties right now. Ahhhh, the cold breeze feels good!
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

cooler than yesterday but not cold...mid to low 40s today. Tomorrow looks cooler and a decent chance at snow...2-4" on the mtn is my guess. Sunny weekend and another warming trend. Monday looks like it could be the warmest day of the year so far....mid to high 50s perhaps at 8k. No cooler weather really insight, but continued unsettled type pattern with rain/snow off and on between sunny days for the following week.

Loveland today was skiing good again, especially on north facing terrain. I was finding some good stuff off 1, South chutes, and 9 for a couple runs before they pulled the plug. Spots on 4 were fun but there was some crust underneath in many spots.

Dumped all day at Breck and the place was quite empty. Definitely deep in certain favorable areas. The wind picked up in the afternoon and was pretty stout out of the NW, which made for marginal visibility at times. Whale's Tail/Peak 7 was closed all day today, so tomorrow should be $$$ up high.

If it dumped at Breck all day, how did they only report 3" this morning?

Traffic on I-70 this morning looked like everyone thought there was a foot over night. Holy crap was it packed.

I think it was 3" from 4pm to 5am that morning. The morning before they reported 2" and then reported 6 later that day. if that makes any sense...

Just got back from spending the weekend in Crested Butte. The -10 outside felt so good on Saturday morning....felt nice to be cold again. On the way home today it was 65 in Salida!

Looks really warm and mild thru Wed. No real good chance for any good snow in the extended outlook but temps should cool late week to at least normal levels...low 40s. Spring has sprung.

It was 40 degrees at loveland around noon.

I'm excited to live in a perpetually cold place next year.

What's The heat been doing to Vail?

I am out of town another week, reading about these 45+ temps.
How is the mountain holding up? Really getting warm on top and in the back? Too soon for spring, need some dry arctic air!

I haven't been on the moutain but I hear it is in good shape. That being said, it is all about the groomers and bumps, full on spring in the afternoon. Might hit 60 at 8k today. Unreal. Beer drinking on a deck weather.

haven't had any real cold fronts slam our area since mid Jan. That is the biggest difference between this year and last. No signs of any impending cold air hitting the region, although it won't be this warm this weekend. Is what it is, get after some corn and enjoy the temps on a deck somewhere.

'01/'02 was much worse. Statewide snowpack topped out at around 45% - 50% of average. The Arkansas River that sees an average seasonal peak flow of 2,500 - 3,500cfs, peaked at 550cfs.

This year, we're currently still over 100% of average for statewide snowpack. Obviously, that can change pretty quickly, but so far this year is nowhere near as dismal as '01/'02.

I realize I'm emphasizing precipitation and not temperatures so much.
