The other thing that sucks is when it finally dumps, it's going to be an absolute shitshow of powder starved people.

When we get lots of early season snow, bookings for the whole season go up. When we get no snow, nobody books, and it impacts the whole season, even if it starts dumping January 1 and doesn't stop.
So you're saying this whole thing could work in our favor this year? Niiiiiiiiiice.

Assuming it starts dumping at some point.

Meh, the Texans don't want it to snow while they're here. I was just looking at the expected numbers today- they go red or black just like they always do (they color code just like the avy centers, so red and black are as bad (or good depending on your viewpoint) as it gets). Last year they were probably going into town every day because it was snowing too much. If it's bluebird and there is something white under their feet to slide around on, they're good. Now the droves of skiers from the front range that were coming down last year on their passes- those people aren't coming until it starts to snow.

Oh, and definitely jealous that you Aspen guys have mountain managers that ski. Word on the street is that the CB guy hasn't taken a single run.

parking lot at Wolf Creek was pretty busy. Line at the cashier for food was 3 deep. Hopefully they are doing ok. Good to have an owner that skis. I think everything is open but the hike stuff above Alberta. Although I wouldn't want to ski most of it. Texans seemed to be enjoying themselves

QFT This season isn't going to spread the crowds out, but it looks cold and sunny. Hook 'em!

Ha ha ha yeah, like the mountain manager at CBMR needs to do anything but keep the lifts running. That does not require skiing ability or interest.

The entire point of the resort is selling condos and "Buy 3 get 4" ski and stay packages.

Headed to Leadville tomorrow to pick up a haul of xmas gifties from Melanzana. Anywhere up there where I may be able to skin uphill a bit? Don't care about skiing quality as much as exercise for the dog and I.

Was thinking Mayflower? Or something near Fremont pass?

Maybe Nick Saban and Joel Gratz can fight to the death and then we can have some kind of Inca sacrifice on top of Pyramid Peak to bring snow back to Colorado.

Also, Montanaskier is nowhere to be found...

Mayflower gulch has surprisingly good coverage today. 3-4” of fresh on top of smooth windbuff. Happy first day of winter to me.

Unfortunately the pup —who went bc skiing for the second time today—doesn’t get that he needs to go uphill in the skin track in soft snow. After two laps the inexhaustible dog gave up.

Bluebird, soft, wintery morning after a night in the van with the dog is hard to beat.
